"I'm pushing an elephant up the stairs..."
Bella rushed around Port Angeles with her three year old daughter. Jacob been "out with the wolves" last night. She was sick of having to look after a hung over puppy. It seemed that that was the only thing the his werewolfishness wouldn't fix. Although, considering how much alcohol it took to get Jacob drunk, she wasn't surprised. It also cost loads, especially as Jacob was the only one with a job and couldn't work 2 or 3 mornings a week. Bella was glad that neither Billy nor Charlie were around to see this.
Charlotte began whineing in the buggy. She was Bella's double at age three. All clumsy and awkward, with nothing seemingly of Jacob. Bella saw everything good about herself in that child. She was smart too. Bella wanted her to start in daycare as soon, just to give her more experience with children her own age. Only problem was that daycare cost money and money was something Bella and Jacob didn't have. Jacob didn't really see the point either.
Jacob wanted Bella to stay at home and mind Charlotte, clean his clothes, cook his meals and be the perfect wife. Bella, on the other hand, felt trapped in the small house they shared. Jacob had an outlet in his mechanics business. Bella didn't even have any friends outside the reservation now Angela and Ben had moved to Seattle and Jacob scared Mike away.
Charlotte began crying properly. Bella took her out of the buggy and sat her on her hip, supporting her with one firm arm. "Just one more shop, Charlie." She pushed the buggy into the bookshop. Books were Bella's last refuge and all the spare money she had went on books for Charlotte and her.
A new sign hung over the cash register, announcing job opening in the book shop. Bella's eyes lit up. This was perfect for her, a job, not too far away, dealing with something she loved. She inquired after the job and was told it was the morning shift, 9-12, Monday to Friday. Bella filled in the application form and returned home to battle a hung over werewolf.
Alice glared at Edward. It was five years since they left Forks and he was still moping about. He was miserable without Bella. But still, he stayed stubborn and refused to go back. Alice was getting sick of it all, she missed Bella too and she couldn't go back and see her because of Edward's "wishes". Well, she was getting sick of Edward and his demands about Bella. She was going to find Bella and screw Edward. He needed to get a life!
Alice stormed into Jasper's and her room and began to cry. Jasper wandered in soon after, feeling her distress. He sat there, stroking her back and sending out calming waves. Alice eventually looked up. "Jasper I have to see her."
Jasper looked sadly down at her. "Be glad Edward is out of the house. You know you shouldn't." Alice looked at him with puppy dog eyes. "God, you know I can't resist that! OK, we'll take a trip from the family and see can we 'accidentally' run into her." Alice cheered up immediately and began packing.
A/N: So, first twillight fic. I always wondered what would happen if Edward never came back. I always felt it wouldn't work out happy family's with Bella and Jacob after Bella met Edward. There should be an update next Wednesday or Thursday. Annoy me if not
