Disclaimer: Gakuen Alice belongs Tachibana Higuchi , NOT ME, but I AM very thankful to her for creating such vivid characters for me to terrorize.

Author's Notes: This oneshot was merely to experiment how well I could do on songfics and I particularly don't like how it turned out but my friend insisted that I post it so here it is! Enjoy!

Like a Blooming Rose

Natsume stared down at the girl beside him, letting his fingers run over her rosy cheeks, over eyelids that hid a pair of beautiful brown eyes. Her russet hair, freed from her pigtails, blew with the gentle breeze; giving her an almost ethereal look. He felt his heart beat faster, like it always did when he gazed at her, and smiled sadly before brushing a lingering kiss on her forehead.

I won't talk
I won't breathe
I won't move till you finally see
that you belong with me

He walked away from the figure sleeping against the sakura tree and into the forest, wanting to be alone at the moment. Sighing, he laid down at the bottom of a tree, hands behind his head, and gazed at the moon without really seeing. An image of a smiling Mikan the only thing on his mind.

you might think
I don't look
but deep inside in the corner of my mind
I'm attached to you

I'm weak
it's true
cause I'm afraid to know the answer
do you want me too?
cause my heart keeps falling faster

He closed his eyes, letting the image of her smile consume him, her laughter ringing in his ears; content to simply sit there and swallow himself in his feelings for her and the small hope that maybe, one day, she'd feel the same way too. He knew it was almost impossible at the moment since all he did was insult her, pushing her away, but maybe, maybe in a few years it'd change. After all, love could work miracles, right?

I've waited all my life to cross this line
to the only thing that's true
so I will not hide
it's time to try anything to be with you
all my life I've waited
this is true

She was his light, his sanity, the one that had stolen his heart. He'd tell her one day, but not just yet. For now…for now he'd simply enjoy the silent comfort she gave while she remained unaware of the love that she radiated and how it had saved him. Soon, he'd tell her soon.

you don't know
what you do
every time you walk into the room
I'm afraid to move

I'm weak
it's true
I'm just scared to know the ending
do you see me too?
do you even know you met me?

He smiled softly, fingering a flower bud growing next to where he lay. That's how their relationship was, wasn't it? Something small, delicate and easily destroyed but if given time to grow, to bloom, it could turn into something beautiful.

I've waited all my life to cross this line
to the only thing that's true
so I will not hide
its time to try anything to be with you
all my life I've waited
this is true

He stood up, heading towards the school. Persona had told him to see him today, probably to give him another dangerous mission. But this time Natsume wasn't afraid, not that he ever was, or angry but anxious. Anxious to finish off his mission as soon as possible and return to her. To see her smile once more, to see her bright eyes again. To hear her laugh.

I know when I go
I'll be on my way to you
the way that's true

The mission would take a while this time, he could tell, and if the flower- the rose- had bloomed the next day he had already arranged for Ruka to pick it, and take away it's thorn, then place it in a vase with the card tucked underneath it ; the card that he, Natsume, had written and place it by her bedroom window.

I've waited all my life to cross this line
to the only thing that's true
so I will not hide
its time to try anything to be with you
all my life I've waited
this is true

And then she'd know. The truth would be hidden no more.
