"There. The cookies are all done," Lilo announced with a grin as she finished sprinkling the last of the sugar onto them. "Don't they look yummy?" Her grin grew as her companion made agreeable grunts. "The girls are going to love them!" Lilo exclaimed excitedly.
"Now," she continued, turning to face the sink, "we just have to wash the dishes so Nani won't complain about 'em when she gets home." Lilo started to pull a chair over to the sink but stopped when she heard chewing noises. "Stitch!" she cried, whirling around, but it was too late.
The cookies were all gone. Not even a drop of sugar remained as Stitch's long tongue cleared all the crumbs off of his blue face. He grinned up at her. "Acookie mama?"
Lilo laughed at his expression but then grew serious. "Bad Stitch!" she scolded. "You shouldn't have eaten all the cookies!"
Stitch lowered his head and pouted. Lilo tried to remain stern, but the look on his face tore at her heart. She hugged him. "It's okay." His arms encircled her waist; he returned her hug. "This time we'll make twice as many!"
"Acookie mama!" Stitch grinned from ear to ear. He liked that idea!

Sugar Cookies
2 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup milk
5 Tablespoons butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Some excess sugar for sprinkling
1. Mix all ingredients together.
2. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Spread dough onto the tray by spoonfuls. Bake at 350 F for 8-10 min or until done.
3. Sprinkle sugar over the top of the cookies.
