Authors note: so this is for Reid-and-Review-plzzz. i never particularly liked mick and mara together, but im doing this anyway!

Mara Walked into Anubis House common room and she saw all her friends doing various random things. Nina and Fabian were sitting there whispering with an egyptian book in front of them, like always, Jerome and Alfie were putting shaving cream in a sleeping Amber's hand, and Patricia was sitting there looking pissed off as usual. And then there was Mick.

Mara had been crushing on him since the start of year 10 and it was now a quarter of the way through year 11 and now he had a girlfriend named, who also happened to be Mara's roomate. They were usually curled up on the couch together, but this time Amber was sitting (or sleeping) as far away as she could be from him. So, to save herself more emotional damage, she turned and walked out the door. She walked for a few minutes, admiring the unusually sunny day. In England, it was almost always rainy or cloudy, so this was an oddity. After walking for about 15 minutes, she heard footsteps behind her. It was him.

He tapped her on the shoulder, expecting her to turn around, but she kept walking.

"Mara, what's wrong with you? You walked into the common room and as soon as you saw me, you just about ran out. What's up?" he asked.

"I don't want to talk to you, Mick," the girl muttered. "Just leave me alone."

"Well maybe I don't want to leave you alone!" Mick said, his voice getting louder.

"What do you want? You're making me angry and I don't want to have to deal with you and Amber and all your cuteness!" Mara began to yell. "I just want to be able to deal with my life without being sad about you-"

Mick stopped her yelling with a little kiss. (AN: i know, it's cliche, but this is what you get when you write this while it's still fresh in your mind at 10 at night. :D)

"But... Amber," Mara began to speak.

"I dumped her last night. For you."

No one had ever been happier to hear these words.
