I'm back with another story!
I know I took so monstrously long, but when I got inspired for this, my muse actually went on a vacation mid-story and I fell into a slump just when I covered about 85% of the story. Here I am, though, and here is another fanfiction about our favorite not-couple couple.
*Thomas Sanders voice* Story time!
Exactly 20 days ago, at around 8pm, I went out with my aunt to go watch an indie movie. I guess it was during this time that I also revisited the manga (and found like 6 new chapters to read lol) and became more aware of the SunaKyo tandem. At the same time, I was shipping real, 4D people so hard, and obviously, aside from their longing, stray glances, I'm actually very weak for those subtle touches. That was part of why this is called I Want to Touch, but 20 days ago, this didn't really have a title. I think the title came several hours before I posted hahaha.
So what's with the indie movie, you ask? It's about a woman who's broken off an 11-year engagement for practical reasons (she didn't want to move out of the country with him), and how, at the same time, she's suspicious about postcards from around the country being sent to her. She thinks it's from her ex-fiance, and since she hasn't seen him around the neighborhood, she goes to where the postcards, only indicated by the paintings on them, take her. There's a plot twist nearing the end, but the important part of the movie is that I noticed how touch-starved she was. Her neighbor develops feelings for her after she leaves to go traveling, she meets a guy that she has a one-night stand with, and said neighbor actually meets ex-fiance. The woman doesn't fall in love, even as the movie ends (because the neighbor doesn't confess, she still needs that closure with her ex-fiance, and the one-night stand had been a whim).
That's what I like about SunaKyo. They're not in love.
But hell if I can't depict them as touch-starved because oh my god, they and I are.
Then again, that's just my take on the characters, I'm not saying it's canon. This is what I wanted to put in I Want to Touch. Touch-starved SunaKyo with little to no hints of feelings. Of course, I thought maybe Kyohei might be having different thoughts towards her, so I put it there, but I didn't let it develop, because honestly, the mangaka hasn't either. I don't see why I should push through. They look comfortable enough at their pace. I definitely do not mind an established relationship between them though.
This has been the oldest version of the gang that I've written. The other versions had been between their last year of high school and sometime during college. In this story, the group is now graduated, they have stable jobs, Sunako's probably okay with showing her face now and all, and hello, there is a pairing here that has decided to live together!
This story is basically like a 5+1 thing that's popular in Archive of Our Own. It started out that way, but it ended up a little fuzzy. I hope you guys will still read and like it. Enjoy!
P.S., I'm already working on a new story. It involves tons of feelings and flashbacks. I got inspired by a couple of sentences I wrote back in Pretty Boys and Broken Girls. I'm only slightly self-promoting lol
