"This is stupid. I'm not going to do it," a stumpy five – year – old whined, stamping his foot with every bit of dignity he possessed. With his hands on his hips, and a serious pout on his face, he looked every bit the fierce competitor.

Sighing with exasperation, Elrohir tried to explain another time, "It's not stupid, it's fun. Ada will like it."

"Ada will think it's stupid too," Estel stamped again. It was a fall day after all and he had been stuck inside for two hours already. Soon, all of the leaves would be off the trees and it would be too cold to spend the day running about and fighting 'real' orcs. Every second was precious.

Running a hand though his hair, Elrohir protested, "No he won't, he taught it to me!" Honestly, he thought, this should have taken all of five minutes. What a wasted day.

"Then why don't YOU do it?" the pout still clearly on his face.

Elrohir sighed again. The logic of a young child, he would never understand it. He offered, in a way of explanation, "But in learning you will teach and in teaching you will learn!"

Estel shook his head and stared at his brother with a bewildered look, "What is that supposed to mean?"

Elrohir shrugged, "I'm not exactly sure myself. I heard Erester say it once." The young boy still looked unconvinced. Pulling out the one thing that was sure to work when dealing with a child, he continued, "I'll get you some pastries before dinner."

He sighed with relief when Estel smiled widely and began to nod enthusiastically. Over two thousand years old, and he had just resorted to bribing a five – year – old.

The day was growing late as Elrond sat in his office, studying one of many trade documents. His desk was covered in such documents, all from a day's work as the Lord of Rivendell.

A shout of "Ada!" followed by a little body throwing itself at his lap broke his concentration. He hugged his son tightly, before placing the paper back on his desk.

Springing off his lap, the five – year – old boy quickly started speaking. "Ada I've got something to show you!" He gestured wildly with his hands in order to get across the importance of it all.

"What is it?" Elrond asked, turning to give his son his full attention.

"Well, Elrohir showed it to me but he said that you had taught it to him so I changed it a bit so that it would be different and now I think it makes more sense anyway," Estel explained looking up at his Ada for assurance. The Elf Lord nodded and the boy took a deep breath.

Estel began to sing in a soft voice, "I'm a little teapot short and stout." Here, he moved his hands to over emphasize his body features.

"Here is my handle here is my spout," Estel moved one hand to his hip and the other out to the side. For the end of the song, he shouted the words as loud as he could.

"When you get all beat up, Ada will shout!
Get in bed and drink it you lout!"
