After a rough, long day, Remus was just getting to lay down and relax when all of a sudden loud banging noises started coming from next door. It drove him a little crazy at first but after a few seconds they stopped which was a relief. He got comfortable on his couch in his tiny flat and turned on the TV searching the guide till he came across one of his favorite movies. A few minutes into the banging started up again. Anger and frustration began building up inside of him. He needed this quiet alone time and whoever was next door making all of that racquet was not helping his situation. Again, the noise stopped after a few seconds and Remus began to relax again. After awhile, he got so caught up in the movie that all the thoughts of the loud noise next door was far from his mind, that is until it started again and didn't go away after a few seconds. Usually he wouldn't be the type of person to snap, but today after everything, he couldn't take it anymore. He put on his shoes, grabbed his keys, phone, and stormed off next door, banging on the door.
Seconds later, the door opened and the most gorgeous man he'd ever seen looked at him. "Can I help you?" The man looked pretty sweaty which only enhanced his hotness.
Suddenly Remus forgot about why he was there. "Um…"
The man grinned at the other man's confusion. "I'm Sirius Black. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Remus Lupin, your next door neighbor."
It dawned on Sirius about why he was there. "Look, about all of that noise, I apologize. i am just moving in and am trying to get settled. I hope I didn't interrupt anything important."
Remus turned red. "Not really. I was just unwinding after a long day by watching my favorite movie. I'm sorry for coming by. I understand you're moving in and I'll try not to be so frustrated. I am sorry for interrupting you." He turned around to go back to his apartment but Sirius yelled at him to stop.
"I'm sorry. I just am sorry for everything. It's nice to meet you. I'm new in town, you're one of the only people that I've met, and I feel like I haven't given a very good impression. Why don't you come in and I'll get you something to drink. Please," Sirius added seeing the unsure look on Remus's face.
Reluctantly Remus went inside and looked around the apartment. Things were scattered all over the place. "Ok."
"Please excuse all the mess. I'm not proud to have anyone over here like this but I feel like I owe you after disrupting you from relaxing after a bad day. I can tell. It's written all over your face," Sirius said as he handed Remus a bottle of water.
"Look, you can forget that. It's not important."
"Yes it is. Let me make it up to you. How about I take you out to dinner tomorrow night around 7," Sirius asked hoping the hot next door neighbor would say yes.
Remus turned even redder. "You mean like a date?"
"That's exactly what I mean. Unless, you don't swing that way or don't want it to be," Sirius spluttered nervously. He'd secretly been observing him for the past couple of days and he made the noise on purpose hoping it would get him to stop by. He had heard from his friend Prongs that he was gay so he knew he had a shot.
"No, a date sounds great. I'll, um, see you later I guess."
"Before you go, may I have your number," Sirius asked. The two of them exchanged numbers and Remus went back to his place feeling so much happier than he had all day.
