Dallas Winston had always been a tough guy. Fighting with the Socs, spending some time in jail, drinking, smoking and whatnot else--this all has made him the rudest and impassionate guy of the gang.

Despite his bad personality traits, Dallas fit quite nicely with the other boys of the gang: Darry, his two brothers Sodapop and Ponyboy, Johnny, Steve and Two-Bits. The seven of them always stuck together no matter what. Yeah, maybe they had their disagreements from time to time, but in the end everything was back to normal.

Rude and impassionate were just two words that described Dallas perfectly. The boys would sometimes say he wasn't that bad, that he was actually able to care for someone and that he could be nice. Of course, this was just the boys' oppinion. To Hanna, a quiet and shy girl who had just moved next to the Curtis house, Dallas was everythig but. She saw him as a hooligan, a barbarian who had been to jail multiple times, an idiot who wears a stupid leather jacket in the middle of July.

Despite disliking him, Hanna was forced to hang out around him often. Living next to the Curtis' made her so close to the boys, but much to her surprise Dallas was also there.

Now, when Dallas is out of jail sooner because of good behaviour, him and Hanna are going to spend more time together. And she will ignite something in him that has died down a long time ago.
