Peeta Mellark's POV

On few occasions do I actually follow her into the woods, trying to sneak up behind her even though I make more noise than an elephant would in a patch of thorns. Still, I work to follow my lovely target; Katniss Everdeen.

She runs with grace and shoots her arrow with beauty. I sigh, watching as she kills another squirrel for a feast later, that beautiful smile that lightens her face when she shoots dinner makes my day that much brighter.

Katniss was and forever will be the love of my life, ever since the day I started kindergarten. That infamous day I heard her singing, and I was a goner. I fell in a deep love and I would not fall out. I never would.

I continue to follow her as she runs deeper into the woods, looking for another animal. Her bow was slung across her back and the squirrel along with other animals I could not see clearly enough were tightly held in her hand. She climbs up a tree swiftly, peering around the trees trying to see something that she can't on the ground.

Katniss is such a natural in the woods. She would never go hungry what with her skill, speed, persistence; she refuses to let herself fail. Plus, she had her family to take care of; they were here motivation.

She then climbs down the tree and starts running again. Katniss's dash is very fast and I have difficulty keeping up with her, wondering why she was running so fast and if I needed to protect her from something I couldn't see.

Katniss seemed to find the unknown object, however, because she suddenly stopped behind a bush. Katniss positioned her bow just right to shoot from her hands, and then she shot the arrow out at the object at an alarming speed.

It is at that moment, that I step on a twig and Katniss turned around fast, bow in hand and an arrow pointed at my heart.

"Peeta!" Katniss yells, throwing herself in my arms.

"Hi." I replied ready to apologize for following her.

Katniss pulls back and hits my chest, "I could've put an arrow through you, Peeta. Don't sneak up on me!"

I grabbed the arrow she was about to almost shoot me with and held it against my heart with a loving grin plastered across my face, "Are you sure you haven't already?"

My wife grins, pulls the arrow away from my heart, and kisses me. I kiss her back trying to tell her how much I love her; that I had always and will always love her. Because after all, she was my girl with the bow.

A/N: Thanks for reading! This idea came to me a few weeks ago and wouldn't leave my brain until I wrote it. It is a one-shot, maybe I will write a Katniss's POV on her boy with the bread. I hope you enjoyed it, have a great day!
