"Runehawk!!" Alec screamed as he stormed out of the hallway. The sounds echoed through the metal corridors of Matt's starship, jolting awake the other three occupants of the ship. They were Matt, Verity, and Raphael, all members of GEARS University. Simultaneous 'thud's joined in the din, sure signs of people falling out of their beds. Two groans and a growl joined in the cacophony.
"What?!" Verity roared back, grumpy at being woken up. Her hair was disheveled and she had a tic mark on her forehead. She pushed open her door with a vicious expression on her face. Two more doors followed, both of the occupants with sleepy looks on their faces. One glanced at the clock which read 02 07. A groan escaped his lips and he banged his head on the doorframe. The sudden sound again jolted the other figure who jumped and banged his head on the low ceiling of the hallway.
"What did you do to my bed?!" Alec shouted. He always wore a white sleeveless shirt and shorts to bed. This allowed everyone to see the red rashes making their way across his skin. He was scratching furiously and had a jar of itch-relief cream in his left hand. His right hand was balled into a fist which he waved angrily at Verity. Small traces of a light brown powder drifted from his person onto the ground. Itching powder.
"Isn't it too late to be shouting?" Matt mumbled sleepily. He rubbed his eyes vigorously and yawned loudly, leaning against the doorframe. He had a teddy bear in his right hand though with all the commotion, nobody seemed to notice, much to his satisfaction.
"Yeah, I wanna go to sleep," Raphael whined. He had a small trail of drool going down to his chin which he sluggishly wiped off. He stumbled and steadied himself, keeping a hand on his head where he slammed it on the ceiling. His head drooped down repeatedly but he managed to keep it up, barely.
"Only after she," Alec pointed to Verity, "apologizes for what she did!"
"Me?!" Verity asked in disbelief. "You apologize for what you did to my clothes!" As if to prove her point, she grabbed her Runehawk uniform, which wasn't in the closet for some reason. Which was also dyed red and gold. Wolfblade colors.
"I didn't do anything to them!!" Alec said. By this point, you could almost see the sparks jumping out between them. Both had fierce glares set on their faces and were nearly nose to nose. Tension practically buzzed around them.
"Guys, why don't we just sort this out in the morning when we can think clearly?" Matt offered. In response to this, he merely turned the glares on himself. He sighed and held up his hands in surrender. The two promptly ignored him and turned their attention back to each other to continue the argument.
Matt turned his head to Raphael who was now watching the scene with a mischievous gleam in his eyes. Raphael was smirking widely and Matt just barely caught an audio recorder grasped in his left hand.
Matt threw up his hands in frustration and stomped back into his room. The door slammed shut with an audible bang but the arguing still continued. He tightly curled his pillow around his ears as he tried to get some sleep come morning. He glanced at the teddy bear next to him, propped up on the wall.
"Tell me Teddy," he whispered to the worn and beaten stuffed animal, "What was I thinking hiring a Mystraven, Runehawk, and a Wolfblade all in my crew?!"
His only response was the shouting coming from outside.
