All in all, Tom Clarkson was in a good mood that morning. He had made it from his car to the staff room without having to suffer from the daggers or silent treatment Izzie was giving him. He shook his head. That woman was driving him crazy. He loved her and he knew she loved him too, but she was too damn stubborn to tell him that since the whole carry on with Stacey Appleyard. If you could spit in your mind, Tom would have spat that name out.

He reached into his tray for any important news and he pulled out a few things. The first, a short memo to remind him that he had a department meeting at lunch. The second, a sheet of paper headed:
FAO Pastoral Care
It was clearly a mistake and Tom placed it into Kim Campbell's tray which was next to his. The third and final thing was an envelope, with his name written neatly on the front. He recognised the handwriting immediately - Izzie.

Tom poked his head round into the seating area of the staff room and clocked Izzie standing at the sink with a cup of tea. She looked up when she saw him and her gaze immediately fixed on the envelope he held in his right hand. He made to approach her and ask why she had written a letter instead of just texting or talking to him but she immediately tensed and gave the slightest shake of her head. Tom understood the action; the letter was clearly to be kept private.
