Welcome, welcome and thrice welcome! This is an idea I had a while back about what would have happened if in Twilight Princess Link had a soldier helping him who wasn't a waste of breathable air. That soldier evolved into a character in his own right, and eventually became a Captain of Gondor. I plan to place a little 'easter egg' in each chapter.
I OWN NOTHING!
Arahad was no fool. He knew a no-win scenario when he saw one. The twenty Umbaran corsair ships on all sides of his little cutter would tear him and his men to shreds with sheer numbers. He should have known better than to go ahead to scout while Captain Thorongil stayed with the main fleet. His main regret was more for his men than himself. They had families, all of them, while he had been alone since his mother died five years prior.
The Corsairs poured onto the ship in droves. As Arahad slew his twentieth Corsair, he knew they wouldn't survive. Gondorians fell all around him. As he fell off the deck, the result of a Corsair smacking him over the head with a mace, and he faded out of consciousness, he thought to himself, why now?
Little did Arahad know, this was not the end. It was only the beginning.
In another land entirely, a young lad of around seventeen had quite recently begun a quest to save his friends, restore light, and stop a Dark Lord.
And there you have it.
I liked the idea of writing a Zelda fic because you can give Link basically any personality. And I thought, "ah, what the heck! I'll throw in a Gondorian badass too!"
