At the end of season one, Evie found out that Zack, Nixie, Sirena, and Lyla were Merpeople. What about Rita? In this fic, she puts two and two together and realizes that the principal isn't all that she seems.

Evie couldn't believe it. Her boyfriend was a Merman! So were those three pesky girls he was always hanging around with! How could it even be possible? She still loved him, she could live with the fact that he was part fish, but still! It was crazy! And the girls, she now knew why they were so weird, why they just randomly showed up places. But that raised another question. Rita.

Rita Santos. The principal. Why did the mermaids stay with her? Did she know they were mermaids? Was she a mermaid herself? Evie decided to find out.

The next day at school she asked Zack. He said he didn't think so. Was he lying? She wasn't sure. Later, she asked Nixie, Lyla, and Sirena. The three all said "No!" at the same time.

"Then how is she your Aunt?" Evie asked

" Zack's parents aren't Merpeople" Lyla said

" Ya, but he was turned into a merman. I thought you three were born mermaids."

" No, we just got turned into them when we were young" they lied

"I still don't believe you" Evie mumbled, and walked away.

The next day, Evie was in Maths class. For some reason Zach wasn't there. She wondered where he was. The phone rang, and the teacher picked it up. A minute later he walked over.

"Evie, Ms. Santos wants too see you." he said

"Ok, thanks" she said and headed towards the office

When she got their, she knocked on the door.

"Come in" Rita said from inside

Evie opened the door, and was really surprised when she saw that Zack, Nixie, Lyla and Sirena were also there.

"Hi Evie" Rita said, "Take a seat"

Zack and the girls smiled at her.

" Evie" Zack started "You know how yesterday, when you asked me if Santos was a mermaid?"

She nodded

"Well, I talked with her, and the girls, and they decided that it was time to tell you"

"So, your saying…"

"Our principal is a Mermaid"

"I knew it!" Evie said

"Sorry we lied to you before" Sirena said, "We just needed to talk to Rita first"

"Its ok" She turned to Rita. "So thats why the only food in your house was a ton of seafood?

Rita laughed. "Yep"
"Evie", Lyla said "You have to promise not to tell anyone. It would ruin Rita's career, and we would all be sent to a laboratory somewhere"
"Of course I won't tell" Evie said "...I still can't believe that the PRINCIPAL is a mermaid though."
Zack laughed. "I couldn't either"
