Here's the prologue! This is just an introduction to lay down the basic rules for the story.

Soulmates are determined by your heart and can be changed.

It is impossible for someone to see a person as their soulmate, but that person doesn't see them as their soulmate, unless stated in the story(wink*).

Soulmates are only for humans, dragons can see all colors.

Dragons also have the ability to see who are soulmates, and cannot intervene.

Bonded dragons can communicate with their riders.

Arranged Marriages are a last resort, for people encourage others to find their soulmate.

The moment that your soulmate dies, you can have another soulmate somewhere in the world.

You can have only 1 soulmate at a time.

Prologue

(Ten years prior)

"Hey, no fair! You can't use me to push you forward! That's dirty!" A young boy with auburn hair yelled as he was running. Of course, he couldn't see that his hair was auburn, it was only grey to him.

"All is fair in war. You're a viking! You should know this!" A little girl said behind her shoulder.

She and the boy were in a competitive race towards a house. The boy was winning for a minute, but the girl grabbed onto him, and pulled him back for leverage. She was now in the lead, and going fast. She and him almost crashed a total of 13 times before they made it to a house, the boy 20 paces behind the girl; out of breath.

"Hey little missy, watch where you're going! You could run into someone like that!" A man with a long beard said to the girl as he scooped her up.

"Uncle Finn!" She squealed as she hugged him from his arms. "You're back from the nest trip!"

The boy was paused about 5 paces away. He has met Finn many times before, and always gave him a short greeting. Finn was one of the few people who treated him with respect.

"Uh oh. That only means…" The Boy trailed off.

There was a giant, burly man with a long, curly bear walking towards their location. He was wearing a massive bear cloak around his shoulders, one that only a man of great stature would wear. He approached Hiccup with a grimace on his face.

"I'll be i the great hall. Get to bed before dark, Hiccup." Was all that the Chief said.

The Chief then walked to the large hall at the base of the small mountain. Hiccup didn't watch him for long, because he was listening to the conversation going on in front of him.

"I have a present for you." Finn then took the brand new axt that was strapped to his back. "You can have this when you become 15. Use it well."

Astrid was flabbergasted at the what her uncle has presented to her. She thanked him, and ran off to play with Hiccup some more. When night came, so did Arvendale's Fire. And what came with Arvendale's Fire was so much worse.
