A/N: Hey guys, this is my first fanfic and I had this in my head so I thought why not share it with you guys. Please let me know if you enjoyed or how I can make my writing better. This is not beta read so all mistakes are mine. Thanks :)

Eyes and their Windows

You begged to Ta-er al-Sahfer's sister to not bring her back, something I had never seen you do. The only people I have seen beg are the weak who who wish to be spared from their death but never from Nyssa al Ghul. This was a situation in which anyone who was placed in your position would also beg. You couldn't risk your beloved to be put in the pit and come out as a monster. To come out as someone who was unrecognizable despite the physical resemblance.

Your begs were unheard and they proceeded with the ceremony.

As the ceremony was beginning you stormed in ready to kill anyone who dared to place Ta-er al-Sahfer in the pit. Hadn't they heard your warnings about the effects?

You stood there looking all poised despite being held back by the League's swords. We all knew you could take them out but you held back, not willing to take the risk of getting taken away while they restored your beloved.

If they only could see what was going on inside of you – anger, but mostly sadness. You now had to see your beloved alive with no recollection of who she was before all of this. No remembrance of who you were to her and who she was to you.

Lowering her into the pit, you looked relieved when nothing happened but then you held in your shock along with everyone else when she rose from the pit.

It's true what they say about how the eyes are windows to the heart, because in that second when your Sara rose, your eyes betrayed you and expressed everything.

When Sara jumped out of the pit you could see shock but that turned into relief with a sense of happiness when she made eye contact with you. In that moment you could believe that everything would be alright and that she was ok, that this was the girl you once knew and loved but as soon as that moment came it went away. Your eyes along with your facial expression showed so much sadness that for a moment it felt like you weren't that little girl who years ago would get reprimanded for showing any sign of emotion.

You couldn't bear witness to see what once used to be the love of your life be tranquilized and restrained so with one final shaky breath and glance you retreated to what I assume would be to your quarters, to finally give into your emotions.
