It was an accident. A duel. Hexes flying everywhere. Curses rebounded off of the walls. She'd gotten in the way, stepped in. It was all his fault. Irreparable damage.

She'd gone mad, completely crazy. It was worse than death. She couldn't remember. Couldn't see. A blind, mad, Amnesia-like life. Horrid. It was so painful to see her like that, not remembering their bond, their love. Not seeing his face, let alone recognizing it. If he hadn't said what he'd said, maybe there wouldn't have been a fight. If she hadn't tried to stop it… if they hadn't even argued!

Always the peacemaker. She was always the peacemaker. Always solid, strong, a comfort. Now, gone. Just a memory. And it was just terrible – Shaking. Shaking. Something was shaking him. Maybe in punishment for what he'd done? What was going on?

A hiss.

A whisper.

"Scorpius."

Distant voices drifted toward him.

"Scorpius!"

That voice. It was her voice. She was saying his name? How –

"Scor!" That was Rose's voice!

"SCOR!"

I opened my eyes, jolted awake. It was just a dream. Rose was fine. She was healthy, beautiful. She was shaking him.

"Rose!" I exclaimed.

"What was that? What the hell is going on? You were … whimpering in your sleep. Why… Why… Are you crying?" She whispered, her harsh voice softening as she noticed, "Why are you crying, Scor?"

"I'm… I'm crying?" I asked groggily.

"Yes, you dolt! And screaming!" She said, her worried face mere inches from my own. It took all my effort to keep from kissing her right then.

"I had a dream."

She relaxed, falling back onto the bed, laying next to me.

"Naw…" She murmured sarcastically.

"I was about you." I said, turning my face towards her.

"Oh?" she said, shifting to lie on her side.

"A nightmare, actually."

"That is extremely offensive, Scor!" She exclaimed, playfully poking my side.

I fake-glared. "You're not helping, Ro!"

"Sorry," she said, " continue."

"You – well, you went mad. You were cursed. You couldn't see anything. You were … you couldn't… couldn't remember anything. You were blind or something! Couldn't recognize me!"

"Oh, " She said, surprised, " I'm… I'm so sorry."

"It was horr – horrible!" I blubbered, sobbing into my pillow.

She moved, her warm body shifting towards mine. She wrapped her arms around me and murmured into my ear, " We've been married for two years. Before that, we were together for three. I've loved you for six. Do you really think that, in any way, shape, or form, I'm going to leave you now? "

At this revelation, my foul mood lifted. I grinned.

"Well …" I said, "There was that one time when we first got married…"

" That – I wasn't even going to – I – I was mad!" She stuttered.

"Or that time when we argued at you parent's house…"

"Which time?"

"When I first decided to become an Auror."

"You – you started that argument!"

"No! I did not!"

"Yes, you did! You wanted an excuse to irritate my father."

"Okay. Well, I can't deny that, but I most definitely did not start that argument."

"Yes, you did!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

She snorted. "Fine."

I sat up so I was looking down at her gorgeous face. She smiled.

"I love you, Scorpius."
