AN-So, for some unknown reason (considering my ridiulous love of all things Ron/Hermione), I'm experiencing a current "thing" for Seamus/Lavender and this is the result! I hope you enjoy it :-) Please let me know what you think.
1) If there's a wizarding gene, it's not as strong as he thought it was. Of the four Finnigan brothers, he's been the only one to follow their Mam to Hogwarts. His younger sister Aoife, on the other hand, has an interesting way with slugs…
2) He almost prefers football to Quidditch, although he'll never tell Dean. Watching Real Madrid on TV with your footy-mad brothers will do that to a person; it's not called the Beautiful Game for nothing after all. Even so, El Clasico will never compare to a Ballycastle Bats match.
3) Seamus has had a flair for pyrotechnics ever since attending his first Cub Scout camp in the Forest of Dean. With or without magic, he can bring anything down.
4) All Seamus ever wanted to do was leave school, so he's as surprised as anyone when he becomes Hogwarts Keeper of Keys and Grounds for a couple of months whilst Hagrid takes time off to properly look after Grawp. He never becomes the Ireland Seeker he often professed he would be, but that doesn't stop him dreaming…much to his wife's embarrassment.
5) Dean Thomas was, is and always will be Seamus' best mate. Lavender often says that the pair are more married than they are and she makes an excellent point.
6) That said, Lavender Brown is the love of his life. The brief moments he feared her to be dead continue to be the worst moments he has ever experienced; the moments he first held her again in the hospital wing weeks later are among the best.
7) Deep down, he knows that part of his right leg was a very small price to pay for surviving the War. Hearing Lavender scream in her sleep and watching her flinch at her own reflection hurt him far more than any physical wound ever could. Doesn't stop it being bloody annoying though, even if he did briefly "earn" the nickname Mad-Eye in the days following the battle. Some mornings he wakes up and forgets, an ungraceful thump onto the carpet bringing him back to reality. However, his already impressive vocabulary of swear words has improved exponentially…
8) Despite having three brothers who have sat them, Seamus still doesn't fully understand the concept of an "A-Level".
9) In Seamus' opinion, there are some things that muggles just do better. Like music. He may be able to transfigure a mouse into a wine glass, Hermione Granger capable of brewing Polyjuice Potion in her second year at Hogwarts, but it takes a special kind of magic to be able to write a song like Lennon and McCartney.
10) The first time he and Lavender properly kiss takes place in a grimy student nightclub in her hometown of Southampton. By traditional (and hygienic) standards it is far from perfect; he has to shout just to make himself heard above the dreadful music and he is fairly certain that there is more than just cheap cider on the sticky floors. The staff are wearing wellies, for goodness' sake! Still, as he holds her scarred face in his hands and brings it close to his, he doesn't care. (It's a kiss. With Lavender!)
