Tangled Up
Prologue
"I don't think it's gonna work," the tall guy said.
"I know. We tried almost everything," the female figure agreed as the wind bristled her soft hair.
The taller guy sat on the bench that girl sat.
He, then, gazed emptily at the sunset scenery displayed in front of him.
"What do you think we should do?" the guy asked, not bothering to look at her.
She turned her head, facing the left side of the male's face.
She opened her mouth but instead of replying, she sighed heavily.
The basketball player turned his head to face the figure beside him.
"We don't have a choice, do we?" she said, locking eyes with him.
"Yeah."
The basketball player leaned in closer towards the dark haired female. He carefully placed his lips on hers and started kissing her.
Her eyes widen in surprise and a faint blush tinted her cheeks. Eventually, she responded to the sudden kiss.
As the kiss grew passionate, she flung both of her arms around his neck while he responded by circling his arms around her waist.
The kiss had felt so right and yet, it felt so wrong.
It was as if they wanted the kiss to last longer and in the same time, they wanted to broke the kiss apart.
In other words, they were confused.
They had mixed feelings on whether they felt that way or the other way around.
Whether what they felt was just another crush or something special.
They were good friends.
Everything that goes on between them was fine. But it was pretty much awkward. Not to mention, complicated.
Their relationship would've worked out if it wasn't for some unavoidable obstacles.
But when they think again, maybe it was they, themselves to be blame.
Maybe they just weren't ready.
Maybe they needed time.
And then, the kiss finally broke apart.
It had lasted longer than they thought it would.
"We need a break."
