As his vision came back into focus, X looked carefully around, making sure he was in no immediate danger. He wasn't. Phew, he thought, I'm in the Hunter HQ… but where?
He looked to the left and saw a plaque shining brightly inset on the wall. It read,
"Hospital Wing." He said. But why… AHH! A blinding flash filled his eyes and he remembered …
The robot on the ground was confused. He had seen his enemy crush him, defeat him, but... Sigma was dying.
And he was killed by... "Me?"
Those were his last words before he passed out.
He heard a voice behind him. " Yes, Alpha did do the job properly, didn't he?" X twisted around and saw the face of Dr. Cain. X recovered from the shock of the flashback quickly and got up. He grabbed his helmet, roughly jammed it on his head and began to rush out of the door. Cain grabbed him and said, " Where are you going X?" He stopped, spun around, and said, "Doctor, whoever this Alpha is, he is more dangerous than Sigma. I think he's a very powerful robot infected with Sigma. I've got to stop him!" He ran out the door and ended up in front of a wall. He felt a hand grip his arm as Cain pulled him headlong into the wall.
To his shock he went through it, and into a large lab. Cain grabbed an object from his jacket, and from it projected a beam of holographic energy. The picture it projected was of blue armor, with one arm blackened and dented, with a pure black hand. Dr. Cain said, "May 17th, 2500. Wily Tower collapses. Dr. Wily is killed. Megaman is also." X interrupted, "I saw this in a news board. So what?" The voice continued. "That was released to the public. Wily had finished production of a virus that he intended to release upon the world. It was called Sigma. He sealed it and 8 robots in time capsules codenamed Wing Demon, Smoke Titan, Thunder Angel, Grapple Serpant, Water Kraken, Blood God, Ice Yeti, Copy Bogart and Sigma Virus. Megaman caught wind of his plans, got there in time and readied a capsule for himself. He altered Sigma. The change would save the world eventually… it made Sigma non-fatal. They were released at exactly the same time. Megaman changed to Alpha and became a wanderer. Last week, his programming activated and he tried to destroy Sigma… To cut this short, he is the most powerful robot in the history of Earth." X gaped.
"Wha…t.t????????"
