So this is different from the other things I have written and working on but i felt a need to do this since I watched the anime. I didn't like how he died right when they started to show their love for each other. So I wrote this. I hope you all like this. It is based right after Toshi had died after the battle with Chikage. Enjoy!

After Toshi had died Chizuru wondered the Japan country side. She had lost the shinsengumi, and so she thought to travel and search for the reason to live. After those fights she had decided so focus on her powers so she wouldn't lose anyone ever again. She then thought to travel to a different country to explore the world.
In an underground place a young man had the body of Toshizo Hajikata. The man was trying to find away to bring him back. With a group of people who worked in medicine, Hajime Saito watched from the back as they looked around and tried to make a medicine to bring him back.
Weeks passed and they were still at nowhere at making a way to bring him back, since Saito had come back from that battle he had heard that Toshi had died in a battle with the Oni Chikage Kazama he decided to try and bring him back, though nothing was heard from Chizuru at all. It was like she was gone and dropped off the face of the world. Someone yelled out and he walked over to the group and looked at them.
"What is it?" he asked
"We found a way but it will take awhile. " One of the doctors said
"Then do it." Saito said
He walked out the place and into the sun. He covered his eyes and started to walk towards the place he lived. Saito had people all over the country trying to find Chizuru so she could be with Toshi.
Chizuru got off the boat and landed in Europe and looked around. The place was totally different and it looked really nice. Someone tapped Chizuru's shoulder and she turned around she saw Ootori standing there.
"Ootori – san what are you doing here?" Chizuru asked
"I could ask you the same. I heard you disappeared from Japan and I had a feeling you might go somewhere else" he smiled
"Well since Hajikata – san died in battle I thought to go somewhere else to go explore the world" Chizuru said
"It makes me sad that he had passed on" Ootori said
"Yes it makes me sad to. I thought I should go do something" she said
He nodded in understanding and they walked together to a place to stay the night and Chizuru went to walk around more with Ootori.
"So how are you holding up Chizuru – Chan?" he asked
"I am still sad that he died but I have to try and make the best out of my life right now" she said
"So are you going to stay here for awhile then?" he asked again
"Yeah. I think it is for the best for right now" she told him
"Alright then" he said
"Saito – san" a doctor called out
"Yes?" he asked
"We are ready" he said
"Then let's bring him back"
So there it is. I know this is short but this is like the start. I am also working on another story that I am going to upload soon when i am done so yeah.
Next chapter: They start to bring Toshi back but they have a spy among them and Saito doesn't know who it is. The spy has Chikage's body. What is he planning?
