Ok, so first off I'd like to say I'm sorry for dropping off the face of the earth like that. Life has been a bit crazy, let's leave it at that. I recently finished Boku No Hero Academia and have literally been bursting with ideas for different fics for it. This is one of them. Don't worry though, I am working on new chapters for my other fics as well, starting with The Four Vongola Brothers, Plus One because I left you guys on one hell of a cliff hanger there. Sorry about that.
Disclaimer: Nope.
"You know Midoriya your going to have a hard time becoming a popular hero with the way your quirk backfires every time you use your quirk. It kinda freaks people out a bit, ya know. I mean I haven't even heard of any pro hero's who's quirks hurt them like that. I'm not trying to be mean or anything I'm just saying." Kaminari pointed out to the small green haired boy. They'd just finished quirk training and of course Midoriya had gotten injured again because of his quirk and he'd had to go to see Recovery Girl. When he'd returned he'd been greeted by his equally worried and exasperated classmates.
Izuku turned in his seat to look over at Kaminari with a slightly surprised look on his face. "Well actually there are a lot of pro heros like me."
Kaminari and the rest of the class looked at him surprised. "Huh? What da ya mean Midoriya?" The blond asked.
Midoriya turned around and pulled his notebook from his bag, a determined expression on his face. He flipped through the pages for a couple minutes before he came to the one he was looking for.
"Here it is!" He turned around with a flourish showing them all the the contents of the notebook. "This is Limit Break, the damage hero." There was a drawing on the page surrounded by a series of notes. The drawing was of a tall slim woman with long black hair tied in a high braid, dressed in a pair baggy black cargo pants, a form fitting black long sleeved shirt, a red bomber jacket and a pair of black combat boots. At her waist was two large swords, hanging from a pair of red and black belts, in their sheaths.
"Her quirk is called Last Will. It's incredibly powerful because it can increase her abilities beyond what's normal at varying levels depending on the situation." Here his eyes darken slightly. "Despite this she mostly uses it as a last resort because of the cost of her power. In order for her to increase her abilities she needs to get hurt. The worse the injury the more powerful she can become for slightly longer periods. But in order for her to use her power at full strength she needs to be practically at death's door, then for fifteen minutes she can become the most powerful human on the planet. When those fifteen minutes are up though, all the damage done to her body returns to her and her life is put in even more danger. And yet every time she survives and does her best to get better as soon as she can so she can help save more people." Midoriya finished a look of sadness but also admiration. The class could easily tell that he admired her tenacity and determination and was inspired to do better himself by it.
"She's actually ranked in the top hundred heros in the world, though that's mostly because she has such a likeable personality. She's sweet and determined and always ready to push herself further to help others, because of this she's actually quite popular. Not to mention the fact that even without her quirk she's crazy strong and an incredible fighter. She fights basically quirkless most of the time, that's why she has the swords. She's really amazing." He was practically sparkling with admiration at this point.
The rest of the class were all a bit amazed some of them had heard of the hero Limit Break but didn't know that much about her. Though only Bakugou reacted at the mention of her fighting quirkless. He knew what that meant to Deku and how she must have helped him keep going.
"She's actually one of my favorite heros and you know she's not the only one like this." Midoriya flipped through a couple more pages before presenting them with another sketch accompanied numerous notes. The sketch showed a tall skinny man with scraggly black hair wearing a long sleeved pale gray turtleneck, black pants and shoes, long white gloves that went up to his elbows, a pair of gray goggles that covered the top half of his face and a white surgical mask that covered the bottom half of his face. "This is Sicko, the infection hero. His quirk gives him the ability to absorb, store and infect people with any kind of illness. A single touch and he can have armies falling at his hands because he infected them with some kind of deadly disease. His quirk has also helped improve vaccine research incredibly since he's able to clone and store diseases in his body for long periods of time. He also uses his quirk to try to keep epidemics from happening by removing the illnesses from peoples bodies before they spread to much." They were all amazed by this, despite the guy looking a bit creepy his quirk sounded amazing!
"Unfortunately his quirk tends to backfire a bit. Often he falls gravely ill or suffers from bouts of intense pain, illnesses can't kill him of course, but it can still be incredibly painful for him. Yet still he does his best to save as many people as he can, often going to hospitals to try and see if he can help some of the terminally or chronically ill, there's a limit to how many illnesses he can absorb before he has to stop, so he can't help everyone but he always tries his best. He's not so popular though because many people think he's kinda creepy and say his quirk is quite villainous, but he's actually a really kind and gentle man. Everyone he's met says he's nothing more than a gentle soul who wants to alleviate others from the pain he feels so often! I honestly don't see how anyone could think someone like that could be a villain." His voice took on a passionate edge towards the end as he talked about how kind Sicko is and what an amazing hero he is, his classmates couldn't help but feel a little ashamed of themselves for thinking he was creepy.
Midoriya put his book down on his desk, a shy little smile on his face. "Limit Break, Sicko, there are lots of heros out there like them whose quirks hurt them more than help them and yes they may not all be incredibly popular but they still try and work harder than everyone else! Not for the fame, but so that they can help people. And they've honestly all been a huge inspiration for me especially with my troubles with my quirk, so I admire all of them and want to work just as hard as they do to become better and help people. All Might may be my favorite, but before I came into my quirk it was heros like them that really helped keep going!" He turned to his classmates to give them a big smile and they all couldn't help but smile back, even Bakugo, but Ieda couldn't help but take notice of one of the things Midoriya said.
"Midoriya? What do you mean before you came into your quirk, you make it sound like you had a hard time before then?" Ieda asked, his voice a mixture of curiosity and concern.
Midoriya's face got a startled look before he realised what he'd said and it morphed into an anxious slightly panicky one. "Ahh… well you could say I'm a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to my quirk… Uhm when I was a kid e-everyone thought I was quir-quirkless because I hadn't shown any signs of having a quirk. I even had the double toe joint and everything." His eyes became darker again, his whole demeanor shifted into one of closed off sadness as he continued. No one noticed the way Bakugo flinched slightly. "Even so I still wanted to be a hero more than anything else in the world, even if everyone said I couldn't. Whenever I started to think of giving up I would always think of Limit Break and how she fights basically quirkless half the time or Sicko who fought almost constantly with a handicap and I'd feel driven to keep moving forward." As he continued the sadness slowly drifted off his face only to be replaced once again with his small shy smile. "The first time I really used my quirk was actually during the entrance exam in order to save Ochako. I was surprised to say the least, but I wasn't about to let the fact that my quirk injured me stop me, I just had to figure out how to control it and until then learn new ways to utilise it in order to minimise the damage." He turned to them again with a bright grin. "I'm gonna do my best to become the number one hero, and I'll make sure to represent all the heros who have issues like mine. I want everyone to see how amazing they all are."
The whole class stared at Midoriya in amazement and shock, before Kaminari burst out laughing.
"Trust Midoriya to know so much about heros! I had no idea there were such incredible pros out there!" The blond grinned at Midoriya who returned it with a shy smile.
Not all heros were perfect. Not all quirks helped their users. But that didn't stop them from doing their best to save as many as they could.
Ok, so Sicko and Limit Break are two hero OC's I've been working on for a while now and let me say I absolutely adore them. They were actually created when I started wondering if there were other people like Deku who hurt themselves when they used their quirk and then I thought what if there were heros like this, and well then this happened. I might write a sequel where Deku and class 1-A get to meet them, but I don't know yet. Anyways if you have any questions about either of them let me know in the reviews and I'll see if I can answer them. Also here's some food for thought, if Hagakure gets injured is her blood also invisible?
MotherfuckingDamianWayne over and out.
