*/ Author's Note: This was a random story idea that popped into my head just half an

'cause of college, I'll be updating the first chapter at least by Friday, November
13th. Enjoy the following few hundred words until then!

AN (2): I do not own the characters portrayed in this story./*

"It's Near," he said softly, staring past the doctor's stolid expression.

It responded in its same passive tone.

"That is all in the past, now."

Onyx eyes met with hazel, but only for a minute.

White coat flaps bounced against slender knees, then pasted the younger male.

"You may return him to his quarters."

"Yes, please return me to headquarters…"

The sound of polished footsteps grew dense. Sweaty palms seized the patient's arm, pulling him upright. In response, pale, spidery fingers grasped a few strands of white hair.

"May I please have my picture back?"

A vacant response.

The fierce tug that followed made Nate a little more aware that he had to start walking. He followed the person dressed in uniform, back to where he would be served a warm evening meal.

Back within the pallid walls of Room No. 683.
