The blue beam hit Frank right in the back and Morty jumped hitting the lockers behind him as his bully completely froze before his eyes. "There you are, Morty. Listen to me. I got an errand to run in a whole different dimension. I need an extra pair of hands." Morty only heard half of what his grandpa said, his eyes flickering over to the human Popsicle, "Oh geez Rick, w-w-what did you do to Frank?"

"It's pretty obvious, Morty. I froze him." Being always the impatient one Rick grabbed his grandson, "Now listen – I need your help, Morty. I mean, we got – we got to get – get the hell out of here and go take care of business. –urpp- It's important. Come on, Morty."

Shifting his eyes back and forth Morty gulped, "I don't know, Rick. I-I can't leave school again." The kid couldn't even remember the last time he stayed a full day in school. He knew sooner or later it was going to come back and bite him in the ass. "Do you have any concept of how much higher the stakes get out there, Morty? What do you think – I can just do it all by myself? Come on!" There was no fighting Grandpa Rick when he gave you that look.

"Aw, geez. Okay. I guess I can skip history. What about Frank? I mean shouldn't you unfreeze him?" Even though he was always a turd to Morty the boy couldn't just completely forget about him. "I'll do it later, Morty. He'll be fine. Let's go." Grabbing on to his grandson Rick bolted before he had to go and freeze some else for getting in his way.

Busting out of school Rick took them to an empty alley. Pulling out his portal gun he first changed the coordinates to where they needed to go, before a green light shot out against the wall. "There she is, All right. Come on, Morty. Let's go."

"Oh, Geez. Okay" Without hesitation Morty followed his grandpa into the portal. Once on the other side he instantly regretted his choices. "Oh, man, Rick. What is this place?" It was nothing like the kid had ever seen. Purple ground, flying ships, planets closer to them then clouds. "It's Dimension 35-C, and it's got the perfect climate conditions for a special type of tree, Morty, called a Mega Tree, and there's fruit in those trees, and there's seeds in those fruits. I'm talking about Mega Seeds. They're – urpp- they're incredibly powerful, and I need them to help me with my research, Morty." Rick looked back at the kid, basically shaking in his shoes, "Oh, man, Rick. I'm looking around this place, and I'm starting to work up some anxiety about this whole thing."

Putting a somewhat comforting hand on his grandsons shoulder Rick took a knee to be eye level with him. "All right, all right, calm down. Listen to me, Morty. I know that new situations can be intimidating. You're looking around, and it's all scary and different, but, you know, m-meeting them head on, charging right into them like a bull that's how we grow as people. I'm no stranger to scary situations. I deal with them all the time. Now, if you just stick with me, Morty, we're gonna be— HOLY CRAP, MORTY RUN!"

The two took off, a green slobbering multi eyed monster hot on their trail, "I never seen that thing before in my life. I don't even know what the hell it is! We got to get out of here, Morty! It's gonna kill us! We're gonna die! We're gonna die, Morty!" His screams echoed around them as he tried to keep up with Rick. The monsters spiderlike legs getting closer and closer. Skidding thru a large opening in a rock formation the two stop to see eyes open on the boulder , the hole closing around the monster swallowing it completely. "Jesus Christ Rick!"

Looking around Rick brushed off his lab coat, "See, everything's f-fine. –urpp-" Morty had no choice but to continue on after his crazy grandpa. "Oh, Morty, take a deep breath. Breathe that breathe that fresh air in, Morty. Y-you smell that? That's the smell of adventure, Morty. That's that's the smell of-of-of-of a whole different evolutionary timeline." Rolling his eyes the kid tried to ignore all the weird monsters flying about hoping none of them wanted to chase after them too, "All right, Rick, look how much longer is this gonna be? Shouldn't I be back at school by now?"

"Are you joking me? I mean, look at all the crazy crap surrounding us. Look at that thing right there." Rick pointed to another light green monster. Sort made Morty nausea at the sight of it, "What the hell is that thing? You think you're gonna see that kind of thing at school?" Grabbing the kids head he forced his eyes to follow it as it moved, "Look at it just lumbering around. It defies all logic, that thing."

Slapping Ricks hand away Morty sighed, "Yeah, Rick, I get it. We're surrounded by monsters. That's kind of the reason why I want to leave." Taking two more steps he gasped when Rick almost shoved him off a cliff, "Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta. Morty, you see this? You see what we just stumbled upon, Morty? Any idea what that is down there?" His voice smug almost agitated. "The mega trees?" Morty asked not really sure if he wanted the answer. "That's right, Morty the mega trees with the mega fruit on them and that's what I'm talking about, Morty. That's where my seeds are. If we would have done what you wanted, I would have never have found them, because you're so in love with school." Rick grabbed the kids shirt pointing down below before pushing him back.

"All right, all right. So, what's so special about these seeds, anyways?" Since they were already in site Morty figured they better try to figure out a way to get down there. "You ask a lot of questions, Morty. Not very charismatic. It makes you kind of an –urpp- under – urpp- underfoot figure." Rummaging inside his lab coat he pulled out two pairs of shoes, "Just take these shoes, Morty. They're –urpp- special grappling shoes. When you're wearing these things, these babies, you can basically just walk on any surface you want, Morty up, down, below, turn around to the left. These things really bring it all together."

If there was anything Morty was sure of was his grandfather's ability to make anything. Without hesitation he put them on. These were the parts of their adventures Morty really liked, Gadgets and such. Standing up with his hands on his hips for a moment he walked to the ledge and went over. "You have to turn them on, Morty! The shoes have to be turned on!"

His grandson screamed all the way to the bottom, landing with a load thud. Turning on his shoes Rick walked down to him, "Morty, oh, you really d-did a number on your legs right now. You know, you got to turn the shoes on, Morty, for them to work. Yeah, look I turned mine on. I had no problem getting down here. It was a leisurely breeze."

"I'm in a lot of pain, Rick!" His grandson legs were in positions the scientist knew weren't the right ones. "Yeah, I can see that. But do you think –urpp- you'll still be able to help me collect my seeds, Morty?" If he could get up Morty was sure he would punch his grandpa in the face for asking such a dumb question, "Are you kidding me?! That's it, Rick! That's the last straw! I can't believe this! I'm sitting here with both of my legs broken, and you're still asking me about getting those seeds?! Ooh! Ow! Oh! Y-y-you're a monster. Y-you're like Hitler, but-but even Hitler cared about Germany or something."

Rubbing his forehead Rick sighed, "Okay, hold on just a second, Morty." Grabbing his portal gun Rick was able to get something for his grandson. It wasn't long before he got back and injected his leg with some medicine. "Ooh, Ohh, Ooh. Wow, Rick. That stuff just healed my broken legs instantly. I mean, I've never felt so good in my life. Thank you." Clearing his throat he waved the kid off, "Don't worry about it, Morty. Just come help me get these seeds, all right, buddy?"

With his new legs Morty was eager to help. Rick side eyed him before letting out another sigh again, "Not that you asked, Morty, but what just happened there is I went into a future dimension with such advanced medicine that they had broken-leg serum at every corner drugstore. The stuff was all over the place, Morty." That was impressive, maybe they could go visit together someday. "Wow, that's pretty crazy, Rick." Getting up the tree Morty was able to grab one of the fruits.

"There's just one problem, Morty one little hang-up. The dimension I visited was so advanced, that –urpp- they had also halted the aging process, and everyone there was young, Morty, and they had been forever. I was the only old person there, Morty. –urpp- It was like I was some sort of, you know, celebrity, walking around. I-I was fascinating to them." Rick grabbed the fruit and ripped it open; the seeds he had been looking for were inside. "There were a lot of attractive women there, Morty, and they-they-they— they all wanted time with me. I had a lot of fun with a lot of young ladies, but I spent so much time there, my interdimensional portal device it's got no charge left, Morty. It's got no charge left."

"What?!" He yelled while his grandpa grabbed at his hair, "It's as good as garbage, Morty. It's not gonna work anymore, Morty." The panic started to rise again. "Oh, geez, Rick, that's not good. W-what are we gonna do? I-I have to be back at school right now. How are we gonna get back home?" For a split second he was worried about not getting back to school before someone noticed but then the fact that they might never get home hit him right in the nuts.

"There's ways to get back home, Morty. It's just it's just gonna be a little bit of a hassle. We're gonna have to go through interdimensional customs, so you're gonna have to do me a real solid." Turning back to Rick his face dropped. He didn't like the sound of that. Doing anything for his grandpa was always a dangerous thing.

000

"The glarp zone is for flarping and unglarping only."

"I don't like it here, Morty. I can't abide bureaucracy. I don't like being told where to go and what to do. I consider it a violation. Did you get those seeds all the way up your butt?" Glancing over at his grandson he knew the deed was done by the uncomfortable look on his face. "Yeah, Rick. Let's just get this over with, okay? I mean, these things are pointy. They hurt."

"That means they're good ones. You're a good kid, Morty. Those mega seeds are super valuable to my work. You've been a huge help to me. I'm gonna be able to do a –urpp- all kind of things with them. It's gonna be great, Morty. A –urpp- all kinds of science." Rick grabbed onto his grandsons shoulder giving it a little squeeze. Encouraging him, they were going to be just fine.

Once it was their turn to get through a Gromflomite turned to them, "Okay, next through. Except you. You go over there." Raising an eyebrow Rick put his hand out to block his grandson, "Why does he have to go over there?" The Gromflomite pointed over to a rather large looking machine, "Random check. He's got to go through the new machine. It detects stuff all the way up your butt." Shit. Shit. "Run, Morty! Run!"

Pushing the Gromflomite forward they both started to run. After passing through security sirens started to wail and about a half dozen armed Gromflomites started chasing after them. Pushing over a large vat with an alien in it Rick was able to buy them more time and they darted in and out of aliens and creatures waiting to get to their destination.

"Red Alert! Red Alert!"

The two tripped and flailed trying their best to no get shot and to keep moving which was easier said than done. "Just keep moving!" Rick had to reassure his grandson even though this was far stranger then your typical cop chase. If the Gromflomites caught them, they would should no mercy.

Finally they had a second to breathe and Rick pulled him into a room with a portal computer, "I need to type in the coordinates to our home world, Morty. Cover me." Grabbing a gun that was leaning against the control panel he shoved it at his grandson. "Oh, man. I mean, you know, I-I don't want to shoot nobody." Slamming his hands a bit Rick eyed his grandson, "They're just robots, Morty! It's okay to shoot them! They're robots!" turning back to the task at hand Rick's finger started typing as fast as they could. Shots behind him reassured him that Morty had the situation covered.

"Glenn's bleeding to death! Someone call his wife and children!" Mortified the kid looked over at his grandpa, "They're not robots, Rick!" Sighing again he tried not to lose focus, "It's a figure of speech, Morty. They're bureaucrats. I don't respect them. Just keep shooting, Morty. You have no idea what prison is like here!" Knowing there was nothing else he could do Morty continued to shot trying to buy them enough time to get home. "Holy crap! This is insane!" A second later the portal turned green. "Come on, Morty! We got to get the hell out of here!"

Rick grabbed his grandsons and started running to the portal. The sudden jolt caused Morty to drop his gun and it flew into the console jostling a few buttons, in an instant the green portal turn orange but it was too late, they were already going through it.

Rolling out of the other side Rick grabbed Morty by the collar giving him a bit of a shake. "W-what did you do?!" Pushing his grandpa off Morty fell back, his tail bone hit the floor, "I-I didn't mean to. The gun, d-d-dropped." That was when the two realized how quiet it was. Looking around it seemed like the place had been long ago dissertated. "Looks like you really gave it to us now Morty." Getting up the kid looked around the dark room, boxes pilled all over, "Where are we Rick?"

The large window that went from floor to ceiling only telling the two adventures that they were floating in space, but where was the golden question. "Did you forget my portal gun is a piece of shit right now Morty? I – urpp- didn't change the coordinates on the console at the l-l-last minute, did I Morty?"

Rolling his eyes Morty walked around the room, a glow of green behind some boxes catching his eyes. "Hey Rick?" The green became bright the more boxes Morty moved before a glass vat stood in front of him. "Don't go touching stuff, you might get alien AIDs stupid." Morty looked at the label on the glass.

SOS- GFRM – GFA (L9)
3- 5 Yrs. E.C-137

"Stop that you idiot." Rick slapped Morty's hand away as he dusted the large layer of dirt off the glass revealing a face underneath. "Wait Rick look." Rubbing more dirt he was able to see a women floating in the liquid wearing only a sports bra and shorts, a mask on her face and electro pads about her body connecting her to the pod. Rolling up his sleeves and looking at his three watches Rick sighed, "Are you done thinking with your dick and r-ready to help me get home?"

Before Rick could walk away his grandson grabbed his lab coat. "W-we can't just leave her here" Swatting the kids hand off Rick started turning over boxes looking for anything that he could use, "We can and we –urpp- we will."

Ignoring Rick's calls to help him look through more crap Morty looked around the machine but most of the writing was alien. A green button larger than the other buttons stuck out and before he could think about it he pressed it. With a large groan the vat shook and the water started to empty, a white light on the top blinking as it did. "What the Fuck Morty. I said don't touch anything you little shit." Grabbing onto his yellow collar he pulled the boy back before he could get into any more trouble.

"We can't leave her. She's human isn't she? What if she was left here, forgotten, W-what if—"

"She's a deadly immortal assassin and the galaxies only hope of survival was locking her in this cryo-chamber, -urpp-Morty." The kid was speechless. He really hadn't thought that, she looked harmless. Cocking his gun Rick pushed his grandson back as the door swung open and the woman's body fell out of like a bag of potatoes.

After an agonizing few second the woman groaned, ripping off her mask before she started to cough, "Fucking Christ you dipshits what happened to protocol, fucking landing on the floor like a sack of useless Gromflomites you ass hat mother-!" Her blue eyes opened up taking in the site before. A gun pointed at her was nothing new but what happened to the base. After a couple more coughs she started ripping all the electro pads off. "Name, planet and reason why the hell I shouldn't kill you –urpp- right now."

"Grandpa Rick you can't kill her." Tapping his gun against his head Rick groaned before turning around, "Damn it Morty now she knows my name. Will you just shut your trap for five seconds while I figure this out."

"I-Im sick and tired of you bossing me around. W-what if she really needs help and your just gonna shoot her." While the two argued the women finally got her legs to cooperate and she stood up. Rick was quick to put his gun back to the wobbling women. "My name is Scarlett." Rolling his eyes a bit Rick huffed, "Entire name."

"Scarlett Odessa Stone."
