Ron and Hermione had just destroyed the cup horcrux with a Basilisk fang in the Chamber of Secrets, but it had some unexpected results. As soon as Hermione had destroyed the horcrux a giant wave of water had begun to rush towards the two of them.

They tried to get away but to no avail they were hit by the giant wave and stood there stunned.

Outside the castle…

You can see Voldemort looking towards the sky in pain and then he uses the Elder Wand to destroy the magical barrier surrounding Hogwarts.

Back in the Chamber of Secrets…

Ron and Hermione stood together hand in hand shocked at what just transpired, and as they slowly turned their heads towards one another they did the last thing that either of them would have expected to do. They kissed.

Ron's/ Hermione's POV

I can't that I'm actually kissing her/him. They both thought in their heads.

The two of them stood kissing for what felt like an eternity, and neither of them wanted it too end but they had to so they could catch their breaths.

"Wow." Is all they could say at that very moment.

It was silent for only a few moments until Ron spoke up.

"Wow Hermione that was amazing, I didn't know you were such a good kisser." He rubbed the back of his neck and blushed as he made that comment.

"I could say the same about you Ronald." Hermione blushed as she replied.

"You know this changes everything for us right?" Hermione asked.

"Yes I guess it does huh? Well it was bound to happen eventually." Ron replied.

"Yes well due too how close you and I were all these years I guess I never really thought it would actually happen, but now that it is I couldn't be any." Hermione said.

The two of them had another long passionate kiss, until they separated and said the three words that the both of them had longed to hear from each for so long.

"I love you Hermione." Ron said to her while he was moving some of her hair that was blocking her beautiful brown eyes.

"I love you too Ron, now and forever." Hermione replied back staring deep into his blue eyes.

"I wish I knew why it took us so long to finally realize our feelings for one another and admit them?" Hermione asked.

"Well Hermione, no one really know why but I for one am glad that we are finally together." Ron said.

"Same here Ronald." Hermione said.

They hugged each other tightly and were about to kiss once again. They were inching closer to one another, until realization stuck them and they remembered that they were in the middle of a war against Lord Voldemort and that they needed to find Harry fast so they could find the three remaining horcruxes and destroy them.

"Ron we should probably go and find Harry right now." Hermione said.

"I couldn't agree with you more." Ron replied as he grabbed Hermione's hand and began to run towards the entrance of the Chamber.

They looked at each other lovingly as they ran to find their friend and finish the quest they all started together.

But really it took you long enough!
