Heya everyone! –Waves- I just realized how long it's been since I actually wrote anything to put up here, I haven't even been on in…well, forever. And forever's a damn long time, you know. –Nodnod- Anyway, Lam-Lam, the awesomest Beta ever cleaned this all up for me awhile ago, but I didn't notice it in my inbox –sweatdrop- So! When I finally did notice it, I panicked because I realized I haven't updated any of my fanfiction in forever. So since then I've been typing random paragraphs when I get the chance, mainly because I feel good when I post something (not that anyone actually likes it…--;) but for now most of my actual story-stories are on hiatus, but not for long! I'll get around to them soon, it's just stuff at home and schoolwork is crushing me. I swear, it's like this maaaaaassive mountain right on top of me. Kids, don't try this at home.
Disclaimer: If I own Naruto, I'd be one happy little Foxy-kins .
All she remembered.
All she remembered were his hands, his pale, pale hands, squeezing tightly, forcing all the air out and letting none get in.
It only ever stopped when eyes finally closed.
She remembered the sounds: the little insane giggles, whispered words and harsh breathing, so loud and desperate.
It was strange when the breathing finally stopped.
But there was never silence.
'Never, never, never.'
It was the little song she sang inside her head. She wouldn't forget, she couldn't after all, but they both knew when he had pushed it too far.
They all knew.
She had seen it, the knowing that what he said was wrong, but he couldn't be wrong. Because Sasuke-kun was always right. And that was the way it went, until the end. Sakura had seen the dark shock, the surprise in them both as he said it. The words just tumbled out, one after the other without being checked.
Why didn't you check?
Naruto scared her then, scared her with the shock on his face as the words registered.
First shock, the anger, and then suddenly, that dark, terrible rage.
There were no red eyes, no strange colors in that perfect sky blue, it was all Naruto.
And as she cowered in her corner and watched, she trembled.
She felt her Sasuke-kun's regret, his surprise, his fear.
But Sasuke feared no one. Heroes were supposed to be fearless, and Sasuke-kun was her hero. And heroes always save the day.
So why didn't Sasuke save the day?
She remembered the pale, pale hands wrap around the even paler neck and squeeze. She wondered why Sasuke-kun didn't fight but he simply stood, eyes wide and shocked, unchanging even as the air left his lungs.
Ah, she knew why Sasuke didn't save that day.
He couldn't have if he wanted.
Because…because he was the one who needed saving, that day.
Why did you have to say those words?
Is this the perfect time to say I love you?
Author's Notes: Ick. I have failed again, I swear I'll never get the hang of this 'good writing' thing. It didn't come out quite as dark as I'd hope, and Naruto and Sakura just wouldn't work with me, neither did Sasuke, and he was only ever talked about. Damn it all, I'm going to co and visit Cyan (a fun friend of Fox's) and play hide and seek with him. That always makes me feel better. While I do that, you guys go ahead an review, okay?
