Summer
"C'mon Lucy," my friend Anna said.
"Yeah c'mon," Leah said.
"Let's go."
They ran down the hill at an increasingly fast rate. I followed them. We fell down onto the grass at the bottom of the hill, our heads next to each other's.
"Because the wind is high," I said, laughing.
"It blows my mind," Anna said.
"And so are we," Jason said.
"What?" Evan asked.
"High," Jason replied.
"Oh."
"God what a gorgeous day," I said.
"I know you could breathe everything in," Kevin replied.
It was a beautiful summer day and the clouds were turning colors and tumbling around us.
"Omygod we're in cloud world," Anna said.
Leah started randomly giggling. I soon followed.
But that was before. That was all before. That wonderful world of summer, heat, wind and freedom. That world of friends and days lasting forever. I so long for those days now. But I can't ever have them back. That was my last summer before it happened.
