Kagome was 19 when the outbreak happened so she will be 20 when she meets up with Rick's group

Chapter one: The Dead and Undead rule the world

She knew that something was wrong. Ever since last night she sensed something bad was going to happen and it did. From what they said on the News the dead started to come back to life and it was plaguing the States. Kagome and her little brother Souta were in Michigan to check out Harvard while their mother stayed at their new home in Georgia when the outbreak happened. They needed to get home and find her. After they packed their stuff from the hotel they hurry to the rental car and drove off. The road was havoc as the dead were everywhere and the living were in major panic mode and couldn't drive right. She was able to dodge every car that swerve close to her until one truck slammed into them and rolled them off the road and down the hill. Kagome had hit her head a little but was able to remain conscious and looked over to her brother.

"Are you okay?" She asked

"Yeah…I think so." He said; wincing a little from the pain in his arm

Unbuckling her seat belt Kagome dropped down carefully and helped her brother out his seat belt. When she sensed that it was clear she was able to open her door and crawled out. She froze though when she sensed a dark aura had appeared right in front of her. She recognized this aura. Its' been following her for weeks now but she was never able to find who or what it was. Judging by it she knew it wasn't a demon but it was close to one.

"Sis." Souta said in a worry tone

She looked up and saw who it was. He looked human but she knew he wasn't. He was Caucasian with tan skin, brown-black hair, hazel eyes and had a strange mark on his half open chest.

"Hello, little priestess." He said with a sinister smirk

'Kami…help us.' She mentally said

Six months later…

It was another hot day it seemed as the two siblings and their dog were walking down the graveyard highway as they looked for a car to drive in. For three months they were captive and enslaved by the vampire race. They were able to escape thanks to a hunter name Blade and his team; the NightStalkers. They saved them and took Kagome and her brother in; training and helping them survive this dead and undead world. Then two months after that they had found Sesshomaru. Except he was now a large all white Alaskan husky dog.

He somehow got cursed (a powerful one) about four centuries after the well closed. He may be a dog now but he still had his demon powers. There were countless of times when Sesshomaru had saved them from the dead with his acid saliva, quick speed and strength. When Kagome found out that it was Sesshomaru she was shocked; even when he spoked to her in her mind to communicate. It freaked her out a lot but she was able to calm herself down.

Then a few day later on the sixth month the vampires found their hideout and attack them by leading a hoard of the dead to them. They were after Kagome since Drake; their king and the one that found them, made her his queen. There was no way in hell that she was going back to him; especially since she found out that she was pregnant with his child two months ago. Kagome and her group got spilt up from Blades and since they were in Georgia they headed to Atlanta. It was the last place her mother told her where she was heading before they were taken.

When they were able to find a car she sensed that the vampires were getting close again. They hurry inside the car and once Kagome hotwire the car they drove off. They made it to the city but to their down side the place was taken over by the dead. When they were trying to find a place to hide in they ran into another human name Glenn. Judging from his aura Kagome could tell that he still had his humanity in him. He was able to help them out and took them to his group. Kagome knew it was risky but they had no other choice. Glenn took them to a department store where his group was hiding out.

"Everyone this is Kagome and Souta." Glenn introduced

"Hi." Kagome said with a small smile

They were all friendly and kind to them.

Well, all but one. Merle Dixon, but Kagome could tell it was the drugs in his system. Once he found out that she was pregnant he was a little nicer.

"How far are you?" The woman Jacqui asked

They were sitting by the staircase while everyone was waiting for Glenn to come back from the supply run before they head back to the quarry.

"Two or three months I think. I'm not that sure." Kagome said

Before more questions were asked gunshots were heard from outside.

"What the hell?" Morale said

"Hey, guys there some cowboy dude on the streets." T-dog said as he came running down the steps

"Is he one of yours?" Andrea asked

The siblings shook their heads no. Blade and the others wouldn't be stupid to shoot their guns in the city full of dead people. Twenty minutes later Glenn called them from the walkie talkie that he helped saved the guy that was shooting and that they were heading back to the store. Morale and T-dog put on some padding gear on and went out to kill the dead that were by the back so Glenn could come in. Almost everyone went to the back to see who the dumbass was while Kagome and Souta stayed behind.

"Do you think Blade and the others are okay?" Souta asked

"Don't forget who it trained you." Kagome smiled "They'll find us."

"We went into the city to gather supplies." Morale said as he and the others came back. "Do you know what the key to salvaging is? Surviving. Do you know what the key to surviving is? Sneaking in and out. Tip toeing! Not shooting up the streets like it's the O.K corral."

They stopped when they came across the front door of the building and saw a lot of walkers hitting the exterior glass, trying to get in.

"Every geek from miles around heard you poppin' off rounds." T-dog said

"You just rang their dinner bell." Andrea muttered

"Get the picture now?" Morale said

One walker got a large rock and was smashing it against the window.

"What the hell were you doing out there anyway?" Andrea asked

"I spotted a helicopter and I tried to flag it down." The man said

The man voice caught Kagome and Souta's attention and took a look at the new man. When they saw him they couldn't believe their eyes. Standing not that far from them was their uncle, Rick Grimes. He was their fathers' little brother. Both of them thought he was dead since he was in a coma from gunshot a few weeks before the outbreak happened.

"I know what I saw." Rick said

He was about to argue some more till he saw them.

"Kagome? Souta?" He said in shock

"Uncle Rick!" Kagome and Souta cried as they ran into his open arms.

"We thought you were dead?" Souta cried

"Don't worry I'm here now. I'm here. I won't let anything happen to you two." Rick smiled; kissing their heads. "Are you two okay? Where's your mother?"

"We're fine. We just came here looking for her." Kagome said

"We'll find her together I promise." He said and kissed their heads one more time

The moment was over when they heard gunshot from the roof.

"Oh man, was that Dixon?" Andrea shook her head

Another shot went off making everyone run to the roof.

"Dixon! Are you crazy?!" Morale shouted

Merle continued shooting the dead; laughing his head off.

"Huh? Hey! You ought to be more polite to a man with a gun!" Merle smirked and jumped down from the ledge. "Only common sense."

"Man, you wasting bullets we ain't even got, man!" T-dog said "And you're bringing even more of them down on our ass! Man, just chill."

Then a fight started as Merle started to show his racist side and attacked T-dog. Rick tried to stop him but Merle hit him and went back punching T-dog. Kagome tried to pull him away from T-dog but Merle ended up shoving her away hard and that got both Rick and Sesshomaru mad. The demon dog pounced on the guy and snapped at him. Merle tried to move the dog away but Sesshomaru ended up biting his arm (without using his acid saliva thankfully), making the man yell in pain.

"Sesshomaru off of him." Kagome said

He did and when Merle was about to get up Rick knocked him out with one good punch and handcuffed him to a pipe.

"Who the hell are you, man?!" Merle grunted

"Officer Friendly." Rick glared and took the extra that gun that Merle had. "Look here, Merle. Things are different now. There are no niggers anymore. No dumb-as-shit inbred white-trash fools either. Only dark meat and white meat. There's us and the dead. We survive this by pulling together not apart."

"Screw you, man." Merle glared

"I can see you make a habit of missing the point." Rick said

"Yeah? Well, screw you twice." Merle said

"Ought to be polite to a man with a gun; especially since you shoved my pregnant niece like that." Rick glared as he pointed Merles gun to his head. "Only common sense."

"You wouldn't. You're a cop." Merle mocked

"All I am anymore is a man looking for his family. Anybody gets in the way of that is gonna lose." Rick warned "I'll give you a moment to think about that."

Then he patted Merle down to make sure he doesn't have any more weapons on him and found drugs in his vest pocket.

"Got some on your nose there." Rick said and stood up

"What are you gonna do? Arrest me?" Merle laughed then yelled when Rick threw his stash over the ledge. "Hey! Dude, what are you doing? Man, that's my stuff! Hey! If I get loose, you'd better pray…yeah, you hear me, you pig?!"

'Fool.' Sesshomaru rolled his eyes

Kagome and Souta mentally laughed. Rick walked over towards them to check on Kagome.

"You Okay?" He asked

"I'm fine." She whispered

"You're not Atlanta P.D." Morale stated "Where you from?"

"Up the road a ways." Rick said

"Well, Officer Friendly from up the road a ways, welcome to the big city." Morale said

Hours had gone by as everyone tried to think of a way to get out of the city. While they were working it out Kagome stayed on the roof with Souta as he looked around with binoculars in his hand. Both he and Sesshomaru were making sure that there were no vampires spies around. Kagome looked through her bag and took out her first aid kit and walked over to Merle.

"Kagome what are you doing?" T-dog said

"Let me see you're arm." She said to Merle

Merle looked at her and then glanced to her guard dog.

"He won't attack unless you try to hurt me." She said "Come on, unless you want to have an infection."

"Why are you so nice, after what I did?" Merle asked as he let her clean and bandage his arm.

"I know you weren't in your right mind. Living in this kind of world, I can understand why you want to forget." She said "I forgive you."

Both T-dog and Merle raised their brow at this but said nothing. When she had finished Morale, Andrea and Jacqui came running and hurry to the ledge.

"Uh, Kagome, you might want to see this." Souta said

When she was finished she over towards them and he gave her the binoculars. She gasped when she saw Rick and Glenn on the street with dead guts all over them.

"Oh Kami…please help them." She whispered

It didn't look like luck was on their side as it started to rain a little and the dead started to notice Rick and Glenn scent. Good news was that they were close to their destination. So they ran to the gate, killing the dead that were close and climbed over it. Once they got one of the trucks everyone hurry downstairs to meet them. But Kagome stopped when she saw T-dog lost the key to Merles cuffs and hurry back.

"Kagome we got to go." T-dog said

"Baby doll, what are you doing, get out of here." Merle said

"We don't leave people behind. Now this is gonna hurt." She hissed

She dislocate his thumb and slipped his hand out of the cuffs. Once she relocated it back on he quickly picked her bridal style and hurry to catch up with the rest.

"Merle, put me down, I can walk on my own." Kagome said

"Not now prego." He said

They made it just in time when Rick showed up with the truck and got on. Once everyone was inside they sped out of the city. What they didn't notice was a black van that has been watching them since they got the truck.

"Call the big boss. Tell him we found them and a few snacks as well." One man smirked; showing off his fangs.

Two hours later Rick and the group had arrived at the camp. While everyone greeted their families Rick stayed behind the truck with Kagome, Souta and Sesshomaru. He held them close as he was relieved that they were safe. They turned their heads to the others when they heard Morales calling them to meet everyone.

"Rick? Kagome? Souta?" A female voice gasped

The two siblings saw their mother standing next to their Aunt Lori and cousin Carl; who were stun to see them and Rick. Sukie broke down crying with a smile on her face and ran over to them as Lori and Carl ran to Rick.

"Oh my babies. My sweet babies. I knew you were alive. I knew it." Sukie cried happily as she hugged them tightly and kissing their heads.

"Oh mama." Kagome cried in happiness

At long last, their family was together again.
