Disclaimer: don't own Moulin Rouge and never will
Just a little poem after watching the movie for the first time. It made me cry but it was so good!
Review please, tell me what ya think. I love to hear from readers.
Our Dying Day
My sparkling diamond
You are chipped,
You are dimmed.
What darkness does now dare to take
That which so long have I fought,
Suffered,
Loved?
That which I have so long lived for?
Why, even now when I have come calling
Singing my love unending,
Do you shatter?
Cutting my soul with your dieing pieces.
Come what may,
We sang to the moon.
But never guess could we,
That our dying day would come
Before our love
Ever flew away
On wings newly made
Of untainted passion.
I see the life leave as
Diamond becomes dust,
And I too have reached my dying day
For my soul dies,
Dies with my cries of anguish,
Floating away with the dust that
Once was your beauty.
Come what may,
Our dying day,
Comes far to soon.
