Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, it is owned by Masashi Kishimoto.

It smelt of rain that day. There were dark, sorrowful gray clouds that covered the skies above as a young woman in black walked down the empty streets of her home. Her eyes were hollow and empty, as bags had formed under them due to lack of sleep. Her pink hair flowed from the breeze that went around her, causing her to shiver from the sudden drop in temperature.

While she walked through the streets, the occasional passerby that would see her would give her a sorrowful look. A look of pity. She ignored all of them, not wanting to feel the weight of this day become heavier. She looked up slowly, as she got closer to her destination, all the while thinking one thing: That of all funerals she would be attending…

It wouldn't be his

She stood there, with dozens of others in front of a grave. She stood next to her instructor, and her master. The young woman wished she had her parents there with her, because never before had she felt so alone.

"The one who was closest to this young man may now step forward."

Her eyes barely widened, as she felt someone put a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see her master, giving her a sad smile. "Sakura…" She didn't need to finish, Sakura knew that it was time.

The pink haired girl looked at her master with empty eyes, before slowly stepping forward while holding flowers. With every step she took, she felt weights trying to bring her down. This was a truth she did not want to accept. She was knocked out of her trance when she heard the muffled cries of the Hyuuga Heiress. She looked down, biting her dry lip as she tried to hold back her emotions as well. She wanted to be strong… She needed to be.

She stood in front of the gravestone, staring down at the inscription as well as the picture placed in front of it. The young man in the picture looked so joyful… So hopeful. Her eyes glazed over while she kneeled down, placing the flowers on the man's grave.

It was too soon…

You never even…

Sakura stayed there, paying her respects before slowly standing up. She slowly turned around, and began to walk back to where she stood, the darkness of the clouds hiding her eyes in shadow. In the walk back, she felt a drop of water hit her nose, as more and more rain began to pour around them. In a flash of lightning, one could see Sakura's face for just a moment. She decided to let her emotions out in secrecy, crying bitter tears all to herself.

This was the man who gave everything… For me.

She thought back to what drove him to his death… His final fight with the man they both fought so dearly to get back… The man they fought for died in that fight, being left in an unmarked grave. The other? Just long enough for Sakura to realize… Just how blind she was. If only she had realized it sooner, to give him one more moment of happiness…

The ceremony ended, everyone leaving in tears, or having a part of them being left with the man who was left in eternal rest. Sakura slowly walked away with her master, and her best friend who had her arm around the pink haired girl in support. If only she had known…

Say your peace now… Before his spirit forever leaves.

Sakura wiped her tears, while she looked up at the crying skies above. She couldn't help but smile sadly, as she thought the words she wished she could have told him before.

I love you, Naruto… And goodbye…

Oh I love one shots… So quick and easy!

Anywho, I made this simply because I heard a sad song, and I just REALLY wanted to write a funeral scene with Naruto and Sakura. Yeah I'm fucked up.

K, bye!
