Chapter One-Pink Promise.
"Mom!" I cried. "I take her all the time!"
My mother tapped her foot impatiently. "Katarzyna. Please you're going to leave for Italy tomorrow; it won't kill you or your friends to take her with you. Besides your friends love her."
"Really mom? Do you understand how uncool it is to take your little sister to the mall?"
"Katarzyna." My mom did the dramatic mom sigh. "You're going to be gone for two weeks, she's going to miss you. Just take her with you and make her feel better."
I put my hands on my hips and rolled my blue eyes. "Fine." I walked to the stairs. "Bree let's go!"
"Coming!" My little sister shouted from her room.
"I hope your giving me money for her." I looked back at my mom.
"Keep hoping honey." She winked at me and continued to clean the stove.
"Ready!" Bree stood tall with her long black hair and bright blue eyes.
I couldn't help but smile. I grabbed my car keys and purse.
"Have fun girls!" or mom shouted.
We got in the car and were on our way to the mall.
"Kat?"Bree watched me.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going to miss you, when are you coming back?" I could hear the sadness in her voice.
"Bree, don't worry I'll be back before you know it, okay." I glanced down at her."Trust me two weeks will fly by. Plus you're going to get a bunch of cool stuff from Italy that you get to show off."
Bree smiled. "You promise?"
I held up my pinky "I pinky promise"
She laughed and grabbed my pinky. "You can't forget to call me every night."
"Bree Tanner I hear by pinky promise that I will call you every night and to come back home quickly and to shower you with gifts!"
"Katarzyna Tanner, I hear by promise to pick up the phone when you call and to count down the days till you come home and take all the gifts you're going to bring me."
We both laughed and enjoyed the ride to the mall.
"Kat over here!" My two friends yelled as Bree and I got out of the car.
"Hey guys!" I hugged them both.
"Aww you brought Bree!" They both squeezed the six year old.
The day went by quickly. After all the shopping was done we said our goodbyes and went home.
"Mom Dad!" Bree ran inside with a billion bags on her little arms. "Look what Kat bought me!"
"What a wonderful sister you have did you say thank you?" Our dad hugged and kissed her and then did the same to me.
"Yes sir!" she smiled and hugged me again.
"Come on honey lets go put your stuff away." Our mom said and took Bree upstairs.
"Kat, Before you go upstairs I want to talk to you." My dad walked into the dining room.
"Yeah." I tossed my things on the couch and followed him. "What's up dad?"
"In Italy. You need to be careful, don't wonder off, don't talk to strangers, stick with the group and call every night."
A soft smiled formed on my lips. "Dad"
"Katarzyna, your seventeen I'm letting you go because I think you're responsible enough. Just promise that you'll be safe and return home in one piece." He got up and hugged me.
"Dad I promise." I hugged him back.
"Alright enough of that." He pulled back. "Go upstairs pack, and get some rest you have a big day tomorrow!"
I smiled and made my way up stairs after I put my things away I took a shower and laid down to get some sleep when there was a knock on the door.
"Yeah?" I yelled.
"Kat?" The door opened slowly."Can I sleep with you tonight?" Bree's small face poked in the door.
I smiled and waved her over. After we got comfy we fell fast asleep.
