Halo: The Wild Frontier

Prior to Operation Torpedo, Kurt and Mendez send several squads on a mission to a distant colony, Kartrav, in an attempt to save them from Ackerson's suicide mission. However, things don't go as planned. Rated M for language and violence

So, this is my first story, so I'd appreciate some feedback about it. Anyway, this is sort of prologue to the story I'm writing, and is a conversation between Mendez and Kurt Ambrose concerning the main characters in this fanfic.

I'm getting more and more suspicious about Ackerson's secret plans for β. No matter what he says, I still don't trust him, even if he did help get the whole S-III program running.

I don't want him to suddenly just take the whole company and send them off on his own Operation Market Garden, so I'm sending some of our boys and girl out on either long term deep reconnaissance or to some distant theater-of-operations. We don't have to worry about 312, but I want to try and get some more out, specifically 320, 170, and 091.

I also managed to get authorization to send some of our squads out, specifically Nomad, Phantom, and Avalon teams. They're being deployed to Kartrav, a little remote world in the Outer Colonies that still has the Insurrectionists high on their list of problems. This operation should keep them occupied while Ackerson has the rest of the company go of on his little mission.

This should be an easy op for them; I doubt they'll be an complications keeping them out of Ackerson's grasp.
