People this is my first typed story on Sasuke and Sakura…um so don't steal it and please forgive me should I spell the names incorrectly. Please R&R, it would be greatly appreciated….

I'm still searching

Uchiha Sasuke…the name was so familiar to her. She had said it so many times. It amazed her how much she knew about him yet how he still was so distant. He wouldn't let her in under any circumstances. It hurt her that he was so cold towards her. He was so empty. She was even tempted to believe he was emotionless at this point.

She lowered her head letting her feet lead her where ever they wished. A tear escaped her emerald eye. She stopped sensing someone. She looked up and there was Sasuke balanced on a tree branch hanging above the river that flowed through Konoha. She found herself standing on the bridge.

Sasuke looked down at her and gave her an emotionless bland face. "Why are you out this late?" he questioned.

She shrugged. "I was just thinking…"

She walked back to where he was above the ground and jumped down. "It's dangerous at night. You should go back." Normally that would be a statement of concern but with his tone of voice…it just sounded like words.

"I'm perfectly fine walking on my own." She said defensively. She was tired of him always saying it was too dangerous for her. He always made he feel worthless.

So why was her love for him so strong...

He put his hands in his pocket. It was silent for a moment. "What were you thinking about?" he asked.

She shrugged again. "Just you."

The reply came as no surprise to Sasuke she was sure. She was always thinking of him.

"You care too much Sakura…" he said. The words came out sharp and cold. He hadn't ment them to. It was a habit. It came naturally for his words to come out as an insult.

"I'm sorry for me being so weak. I just….I just love you so much. Why can't you just let me do that?" Sakura said letting a stray tear fall down her cheek once again.

He didn't say anything.

"Sasuke…I live for you, but you wouldn't shed a tear should I die. And I care for you, and all you do is push me aside to gain more power for your revenge. But now that Itachi is dead you still push me aside. You can't use revenge as an excuse anymore…"

Sasuke was thrown off for a minute. "Sakura…have I really caused you so much pain?" he asked sincerely.

She looked away not able to look at his handsome face. Oh how she wished she would be able to see a smile on that face directed to her. Sasuke took a step forward. And then another…and another until he was just inch's from Sakura.

"Sakura…" he said.

She closed her eyes trying to hide her tears. She loved and hated having him so close to her. She fought back the urge to fall against him and cry.

"Sakura…I'm truly thankful for your love…. I'm just not ready to let go yet. Please understand…I'm still searching." He whispered lifting her face up gently.

Sakura hiccupped as her tears began to fall uncontrollably. "But Sasuke what are you still searching for? Itachi's dead! Orachimaru gave you so much power. What else is there?"

He was silent for a moment his deep onyx eyes piercing into her soul. Suddenly he embraced her. "I'm still looking for me…."

OK! Pleasetell me how it was. I tried to keep Sasuke in character but it is hard due to the fact that he is always soooooo depressed and unloving. Please tell me how it was!
