"You once asked me how the rain felt"

"You asked me once if I liked the sound the rain made"

"I responded yes, but that answer didn't satisfy you"

"So, you asked if I liked how the rain felt"

"I told you it felt warm against my hands"

"You were quiet before taking a deep breath and asking if I could see the rain"

"I shook my head and reached for you face"

"I couldn't see the rain that you spoke of, I couldn't understand what you were asking"

"I felt hot tears streaming down your face as you asked what the rain felt like now"

"I told you that it felt like tears"

"You had nodded and wiped the tears away, but they came back again when I uttered a simple phrase"

"If I could take a picture of you right now, your tears would be the most beautiful rain I have ever seen"

"You let out a broken sob and held me close"

"Why are you crying, why does it have to rain? I had asked"

"I never realized that your rain, those tears, were ones of love"

"I could never see it before"

"But now looking into those sad eyes, asking me if I could feel the rain, I understood"

"We cried that day out of love, not pain"

"You once asked me how the rain felt, and to this day I will still answer that it felt like tears falling from the most beautifully broken eyes"

"Now as we sit together, I can't help but wonder, what does my rain feel like to you?"
