Elena sat on her window seat, smiling as she wrote in her diary. From where I sat on her bed, I could read what she was writing, but I resisted. Instead, I gazed at her delicate face, her smile automatically made me feel blissful and I couldn't prevent the smile that broke out across my face as well. Her doe eyes were wide, her eyelashes constantly fluttering. Those eyes were capable of making anyone do anything, with just a bat of the eyelashes.
So many years gone, still I remember
How did I ever let my heart believe in one who never gave enough to me
The way that I was looking at her now, reinforced what I had thought of Katherine for a century now, our love was never real. The love that I had gave her was forced, she had compelled me to admire her.
And so many years gone, love that was so wrong
I can't forget the way it used to be and how you changed the taste of love for me
I cannot bring myself to regret Katherine. If not for her, I would not have had this second chance at love with Elena. So for that -and that only- I will be forever grateful.

There is a reason I am alive and here today, and that reason is her, the one I can no longer live without. Elena closed her diary and stood. She turned to me and noticed me smiling back at her. She crossed the room and I pulled her onto my knee. I kissed her softly and after a while, she pulled back.
"I love you" She said.
"Always" I replied and kissed her again.
No one could ever touch me more and I only hope that in return
I might have saved the best of me for you...
