The first thing that went through my mind when I woke up is, "I can finally be free." Sorry let me start over. My name is Beatrice Prior, I live in Abnegation. Yesterday I took my aptitude test, and mine was Dauntless. I was happy because I know today I am leaving, yes I am sad to leave my family, but my parents will still have my brother, the perfect child, Caleb. We don't like each other very much. Everyone knows I'm not staying here. I got out of bed, and went to take a shower. When I got out I went to the shower and put on some gray jeans, gray sweater, and some gray converse. After I got my clothes on, I put my hair in a bun. I snuck into my bathroom and slid the panel in front of the mirror I'm not supposed to, but I do it a lot. I looked at myself, my hair touched my shoulder blades, I was about 5'5, my eyes were a piercing bluish/gray, since I was younger I got curves, and sometimes I pretend to be sick so I don't have to go to school then when I'm home alone I run into a nearby field and just run for a few hours so I wasn't overweight like some Abnegation people, and I have a flat stomach, I would be considered really pretty in another faction, my nose was not long, and I have high cheekbones. I slid the panel back in place. I walked downstairs passing my brother he stiffly said, "Beatrice." I ignored him and walked downstairs to eat my toast. The food here sucks majorly, I hate it. My father barely acknowledges my presence as I say hello. We finish our meal, and walk to the bus stop. When we got on, my mother and I had to share a seat. When we get to The Hub my father makes us take the stairs, I am the only one of my family not out of breath from all the stairs. When we are at the floor of the ceremony, Caleb and I get in line. My father shakes my hand, and my mother hugs me and says in my ear, "I love you no matter what." I look at her, and then they go and sit down. I zone out till they call Caleb's name, and to no surprise his blood falls on the stones. Then I go up and cut my palm, and without hesitation hold my hand over the burning coals. My blood drops down, and the Dauntless erupt into cheers. I walk over to the other initiates. When all the 16 year olds choose, the Dauntless start running down the stairs. We run outside, and then about 30 seconds later, the train comes. I jump on with little difficulty. I turn and help a Candor girl on. She says, "Thanks, I'm Christina." "I'm Beatrice." Then we sit down, till a Candor girl yells, "THEY'RE JUMPING OFF!"
