Chapter One

It was late in the Afternoon. Siria was lying on a mat in a small two room cabin. Amber and Siria had made it to the camp site earlier that afternoon. Both were tired and had soon when to sleep. That evening Siria sat quietly. Amber was just outside in the other room talking to Hawk. They were talking about her. "So what is wrong with her exactly?"
Amber shrugged. "Love"
"Is that any reason to bring her here?"
"Coming here helped me. I just figured..." Amber's voice trailed off as Hawk continued to stare at her unconvinced. "It won't be for a long time, she can do simple things till she's ready to come back."
"And what if she doesn't want to back in the end?"
"Then someone will be very unhappy...more so then now."
Hawk shrugged. "Aravinda can help."
"Why not you?"
"I can't, there are problems with the other tribes I have to deal with."
"What, what's happening?"
"The Eco-Tribes are all rioting against themselves; one in particular."
"Well do you think it could reach the Gaians, if so I should stay here?"
"You don't need to stay Amber; I should be able to get some kind of peace going among them."
"Well at least there's peace in the city for a change."
Hawk smirked. "Don't be so sure; things always happen when you least expect them."
Amber stared at Hawk. He wasn't usually this cryptic. Her attention was drawn when the door to the cabin swung open. A guy walked in to the room. His skin was tan and his hair jet black and a bit wavy. He was tall and had dark blue eyes. Amber beamed standing up to hug him. "Lev"
"Amber what are you doing here?"
"I'm just here for a quick visit. I had some business to take care of."
"Is everything ok, I mean in the city."
"Everything is great."
"Well good." He nodded. "And if you don't mind I'm going to borrow this room and ca6tch some Z's."
"You can't use that room." Amber pleaded.
Lev opened the door slightly and then quickly closed it. "There's a girl in there."
Amber sighed. "Yeah, about that, she's a friend of mine. She'll be staying for a little bit."
Lev smiled. Hawk glared at him. "Don't even think about it."
Lev grinned. "What are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm talking about."
Before Lev could come up with a witty reply a girl with curly red hair burst into the cabin, "Lev you're in big trouble."
"Oh that" Lev sighed. "Aravinda what did I do this time."
"Your cousin has been a pain in butt since you left. I want compensation for my troubles this past week."
"Mouse is not that hard to keep track of, so what did you do?"
"I did nothing."
"Yes you did." A small voice yelled from behind Aravinda. "You left me by myself so you could go off with that guy from the other tribe."
"I told you, it was business. We needed to be alone."
"That's because you were kissing!"
"Will you all SHUT UP!" Amber glared at the three of them. "Now for the next three weeks you will not cause Siria any trouble."
"What? Who the hell is Siria?"
Lev smiled. "A girl in the bedroom"
"If you have anything to do with it THAT is definitely nothing new."
"Shut Up!" Amber looked at Hawk. "I'm going to leav now just make sure these three don't kill each other."
"Don't always?" Hawk gritted his teeth as Amber left. When she was gone he turned to Lev. "Take Mouse outside. I need to speak with Aravinda."
Lev shrugged innocently and playfully pulled Mouse out of the door. Aravinda rolled her eyes and sighed heavily as she sat down in one of the chairs. "Why is she always yelling at me?"
"Sorry, she's just a little tense right now."
"But that doesn't mean she has to yell. Besides who is this Siria anyway? She might be some crazy Zoot worshipper or something."
"She isn't. I met her earlier. She's just going through some stuff right now."
Aravinda eyes brightened as she leaned toward Hawk. "What's wrong with her?"
"Amber didn't say and don't hassle her either."
Just as Aravinda was about to speak, Siria walked out of the small bedroom. She looked tired and was still wearing her pink hoodie. "Where's Amber?"
Aravinda quickly stood. "She left. I'm Aravinda. You're staying with me while you're here. We'll be like roommates."
"Uh...sure"
The smile on Aravinda's face faltered slightly, but regaining it she patted hawk's shoulder and quickly left the room. Siria turned to Hawk. "Did I say something wrong?"
"Don't worry about it." Siria nodded and looked out the window of the cabin. Things weren't turning out so great and part of her wanted to be in the Mall.

Late that evening and far from were Siria lay. Jay was seated on the stairs in the Mall. He couldn't sleep. He figured he could stand guard or something, but what for the city was at peace. He heard footsteps behind him. He turned noticing ebony gliding down the steps. "What are you doing here?"
"I was just leaving I had some last minute business to take care of."
He nodded and she walked past him, but then she stopped. Despite the fact that it had completely irritated her to watch him mopping around the Hotel the last few days, she truly felt sorry for him, and it was partly her fault wasn't it?' she turned and sat beside him. He looked at her then began to speak, "ebony do think I would have made a good father."
"Yes, I even wanted you to be the father of my children, and that's saying something."
"Then why didn't she tell me?"
"I don't think it it's a question of her telling you, if you where going to go back just for her."
"I love her."
"Then what took you so long to go back?" She looked at him, his head in his hands. She placed her hand on his shoulder. "Jay, don't be so hard on yourself. She'll come back. It's not you; it was just losing the baby, ok?" She gave him a reassuring smile. Jay looked at her and smiled. He knew she was trying to cheer him up, but he still felt bad. When Ebony had left Jay continued to sit on the stairs. His mind went back to the days when he had first met Siria. He's eyelids grew heavy and he fell asleep.
