It was early morning, perhaps a couple of hours after dawn. Will Turner peeked in his and his wife's room and chuckled to himself as he saw his wife sleeping, her front faced towards him and her arms under her head. Will stepped in and went towards the bed and carefully sat on his side of the bed, hoping to not wake her. He didn't, to his relief.
Will placed his hand on her cheek, running it down her skin, to her neck, and then to her shoulder where he rubbed his finger there. She shifted in her sleep and scooted closer towards him, her head now nestled on his lap. Will smiled and moved his hand to the back of her head and ran his fingers through her hair.
"Will," Elizabeth murmured. "it's a bit too early for this."
"I have something to show you," was Will's reply in a whisper. Elizabeth's eyes fluttered open and stared up at his face for a moment before closing her eyes and cuddled more against him. Will laughed. "Elizabeth…"
"Can it wait?"
"No."
Elizabeth didn't move, she just pressed her face in his stomach, warming Will's heart. He, however, didn't give in to let her sleep. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and the other one under her knees and lifted her up in his arms and stood. Her eyes opened wide, a squeal spurting out from her lips.
"Will!"
He carried her out of their room and downstairs and into their backyard. Elizabeth had her arms wrapped around his neck and her head leaned against his shoulder. Will settled himself on the ground and pulled Elizabeth against his chest.
"Elizabeth," he whispered in her ear and her eyes opened and gasped. Will smiled, pressing his cheek in her hair and rubbed her back. He knew she hadn't seen a sunrise before and knew she would want to see one. Elizabeth sat up straighter on him and together they watched the sunrise.
No later sooner, however, Elizabeth was fast asleep on his chest. Will smiled and carried her back inside and upstairs and in their room. He laid her on her side of the bed and then joined her, pulling her against him and held her around the waist. Will placed his head next to hers and fell asleep.
