ANOTHER SCHOOL SHOOTING PLAGUES AMERICA
Cora Adele Charles ⇈ 1963
Cora giggled at another one of Anthony's jokes, her head resting innocently against his shoulder, glancing at the engagement ring on her finger, a smile ghosting her lips. The first shot breaks through the hall, making Cora's eyes snap up to Anthony's, plagued in panic, the pair stumble over each other and many other students, desperate to hide underneath the many desks of the classroom.
Shivering from fear, Anthony wraps an arm around the smaller girl, as she cries. He's tearing up himself as he wipes away her tears, placing a kiss against her dirty blonde hair, hand laces with hers. The door shoots open, Cora closes her eyes, squeezing Anthony's hand in fear, he simply buries her head in his chest, stroking her hair with shaky movements.
Like a killer Ballerina the shooter spins, shooting under all the desks with a dark cackle, leaving quickly, shoots echoing down the halls. Cora cries out, looking down at the bloody mess of her stomach and the bullet lodged in Anthony's neck.
"No, no" She whispers, bringing her blood coated hands to his face, his eyes are wide open, the light green gazing emptily into the blue tearing eyes of Cora. She kisses his forehead, repeatedly, crying out for his death, for the death of her fellow students and the bullet stuck in her stomach.
With unsteady fingers Cora slides the engagement finger from Anthony's finger, squeezing it tightly before placing it in her pocket. Each crawl makes Cora screams out in pain yet she continues her journey, escaping out the fire exit and stumbling into the woods that surround the school.
Her eyes go blurry, as she takes out Anthony's engagement ring, sliding it on her own finger, tears falling down her porcelain skin as her eyes finally close.
