A/N: Hey, guess what? I felt like writing an Into The Woods story! This story stems from the lines of the show, "Yes, I will be your mother now," which my super short friend Becky preformed wonderfully with her sightly-taller-than-average Jack in our ensemble class. Well, enough of my silly babbling. Enjoy the show!

Little Red always wondered what a mother was. Well, of course she knew what the definition of a mother was, as she had one herself, but she new there was a difference between a technical mother and a real mother. Red had a technical mother, who had given birth to her, but lacked the warm compassion of a real mother. Red had heard of real mothers, but had never met one herself.

Maybe that's why she decided to be Jack's new mother. She seemed kind of annoying to Red, but when Jack talked about her, she seemed like a real mother of sorts. Her death had crushed him.

Red knew it may take a while for him to accept her new motherly role, considering he was three years older than her, and much taller. But still... Maybe he would let her take care of him. Maybe if Red was his mother, she would learn about mothers from experience. Maybe then she could even become a REAL mother. Maybe he would eventually let her play a role in his life other than that of his mother. Then, maybe someday she could be a technical mother as well as a real mother. Maybe they could rise from the rubble and create their own happily ever after. Maybe then Jack wouldn't be sad anymore.

A/N: Well, I hope you found that short and sweet. I tried to add a little shipping, because I really think those two would end up together in the future. If you don't, I don't care, because the she is so young, it can just be passed as a little girl's whim. Flames will be used to roast marshmallows. However, constructive criticisms are much appreciated, as are compliments ;).

Into the woods! Into the woods! Into the woods and out of the woods... And happy ever after!

* I wish! *
