I don't ship these too (i mean not really) but I seriously think they have something.
Characters: Roy/Red Arrow, Artemis
I do not own this.
"I'm losing him," Roy says as he and Artemis stand on the roof. They're overlooking the city, listening to a police scanner.
Artemis realizes that he's looking for an answer. And well, to be perfectly honest, she isn't sure she can give him one. They both treated Wally like crap, really they did. So it made sense that he'd fall for the one person who didn't.
Dick was good for him. God, Dick is good for him, but when she thinks about it, Dick will just baby the boy. He'll treat Wally like a little princess, and when Wally has to worry about something one day, and Dick isn't there to hold his hand, he'll fall on his ass. At least with Roy, yeah, sure he was babied, but not so much that he couldn't be alone. And with Artemis…well it was different. He was different.
She should be trying to get him back, trying to make him see, but when she tells Roy, "Then fight for him," she knows that Wally won't come for her. Not again.
"It's not that easy," he says angrily. "It's never easy with him."
She snorts, and then looks at him, "It's not supposed to be. You have to fight for him. Make him see that you can be better, that you are better. Lian loves him, anyway, so maybe pull the kid card."
Roy's face softens at the sound of his daughter's name, and then hardens when he realizes that Artemis told him to bribe Wally. "Yeah, but Dick's got Damian and Tim to deal with."
"Wally's in more danger with them then he is juggling knives," She remarks softly, squinting at something. "What is that?"
"Cat," Roy tells her without looking, and she nods, eyes scanning again.
"Maybe I'll call him tomorrow," he finally mutters. "Hey, why are you even helping me with this?"
Artemis shrugs, running to jump on the roof next door. "Because I want Wally to be happy, and if that means being with you, then so be it."
Roy decides maybe she isn't as bad as he thought.
