Chapter One

Tsunade sat at her desk with the usual expression on her face: a mixture of boredom, later-life angst, and what looks like severe constipation, and while a skilled medical ninja such as herself may have the cure for the last of those symptoms, when they are put together the outcome is a form of verbal (and with her strength luckily not physical) torture that can be described as fatal by her greatest friend and asset: Shizune.

"All this paper work" Tsunade thought out loud, "how the hell am I supposed to finish all of this when after I get one form done they hand me a stack more! Ugh, well I better get started..."

Tsunade stared intensely at the sheet in front of her then she slowly lifted her gaze to the mountain of other sheets around her chair. Walking into the office, at first glance, it would appear her desk was compleatly made out of paper work, if you didn't know better you'd think the only kind of wood in the office has been chopped down from branches and trunk and used to make all the empty white sheets that sat unmoving waiting to be filled out, signed, approved, or vetoed.

"Tea!" She suddenly stood up, shaking the piles, and began laughing a little bit out of desperation "what am I thinking? I-i can't possibly start on any of this without a good pot of tea, yes all this work will have to wait, there's no other option first I need tea!"

It may sound awful but this was one of Tsunade's simpler attempts to procrastinate, she has been known to often show up unannounced at the hospital ranting about the little things in every day life that can lead to serious illness or death (like cutting your finger on a rose's thorn or cracking your fingers the wrong way), then for the rest of day she would patrol the village looking out for every twisted ankle or bloody knee to tend with as many time-consuming procedures as she can think up.

"SHIZUNE!" She yelled out. "SHIZUNE! How am I supposed get any work done without my tea?!"

Tsunade sat back down awaiting Shizune's signature "Yes, m'lady" from somewhere outside the doors. Tsunade perked her head thinking "that was odd I didn't hear her". She strained her ears and still- nothing, even after calling out once more in the loudest voice she could muster she heard no response. Then in her final attempt she focused as much chakra as she could to her ears enabling a sort of super human hearing ability and took in a deep breath preparing for the loudest yell of her life when she heard it: Shizune's voice from outside at the bottom of the large staircase to the hokage's office. She could hardly make out what was being said and even then didn't fully understand it.

"What? She's coming back?" Tsunade heard the faint voice of Shizune say and amplified it "Why weren't we informed of this earlier?"

"We just received word now from a carrier pigeon of all things." The voice of an anbu agent stated.

"I've only heard about her, I wonder is she really like they say she is..? How long has it been since she's been to the village?" Shizune replied slightly worried.

"It's been 6 years ma'am." The agent said.

"I'll inform lady Hokage at once, she'll be most pleased.. I think.." Shizune finished.

Tsunade returned her chakra back to its regular flow and waited for Shizune wondering who it was they could possibly be talking about and hoping as hard as she could that it had nothing to do with Orochimaru. Tsunade would do all the paper work in the world instead of sending her men out to battle him at the borders.

Shizune walked in smiling, a good sign, and said "M'lady, we're going to have a visitor, and from my knowledge a pretty well known one at that."
