Hello everyone who reads this, please note that this is my first story and the fact I'm not English or American, so there might be a few mistakes.

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy it even though, it's a bit short but hey, it's a beginning isn't it?

And before I begin, a little late HAPPY NEW YEAR

And before I forget it : NO I don't own Avatar the last airbender (It's Nickelodeon) But why am I saying that, You all sure knew that before..

In an airtemple, approximately hundred years ago, one airmonk wrote his last thoughts before the firebenders attacked. And hundred years after that, the last airbender found this scroll somewhere in a forest. Of course this scroll must have been taken by one of the firebenders who survived the first strike of the firenation and took it to sell it somewhere but probably just lost it.

So the last airbender, also known as the avatar, or simply just Aang, read this scroll:

"The sky is getting darker and darker; the monks of the council say a war will come soon. I naturally trust and believe them, but I can't imagine the fire nation could possibly do something like that, even if Solzen is now firelord.

If the monks are right and a war is coming I don't think we can and will do something, the firenation can't invade us in the temples, this would not be honourable and even Solzen has honour.

Whatever comes, we can't do anything now. But the weather is really worrying me, I've never seen such a dark sky, even the temperature is way too hot. I don't like this. I really don't like this. I don't know who of us is the avatar yet but I'm sure in time he will reveal himself even though he's must be a kid now, avatar Roku died twelve years ago now.

I'm frightened by this thought, but if we are attacked in the temple, the first victims will be the children. They are playing most of the time at the bottom of the mountain whereas the older monks are meditating or practicing in the higher levels. I'm afraid the firenation could be this cruel, even if the rumours would be true saying that Solzen wants to kill the avatar, it's… I don't know what to say, this'd be awful.

I hope for all the nations and every innocent life that this will never come true.

I think I 'm going meditating now, I have to think.

"So, these were his last written words before the war…" Aang thought, but he didn't have time to think about it more, because Momo was now flying in a direction, it seemed that he knew where he was heading. So Aang jumped on his glider to follow him.

Imagine his great surprise when he found his pet, who found….

Well I will say it anyway.

So it was… another winged lemur!

Aang was both surprised and happy but much happier than surprised, he didn't know, even if he hoped, that more winged lemurs had survived.

At least, there was a little hope that some airbenders were left, like the winged lemurs?

There was still a chance.

But for now, Aang just took the new found lemur as an addition to their group.
