Chapter One

Best Ten Seconds

Dana's POV

So I sit in film class. Its last period and I'm exhausted. It helps that film is my favorite subject and the teacher, Mrs. Martinez, is my favorite teacher. I am sitting next to my best friend. No its not who you think, its not Zoey or Nicole or even Lola, its Logan. I know it's a little weird to you that my best friend is the jerk himself Logan Reese, but its true. Ever since I came back here two years ago, Zoey and Chase have started to date and Michael and Nicole even got together. Lola has some boy friend named Eric, I don't really know him, he is new.

So anyways, back to me and Logan. Everyone thinks that we are totally meant to be more, but he is just my best friend. Every once in a while, we will get carried away and kiss but we always just brush it off and never talk about it again. I would never admit it out loud but those ten second kisses are the best ten seconds of my life.

Yup that's right, I'm in love with Logan, my best friend, how cliché. I hate feeling that way. He always makes jokes about liking me but I can't tell if he is serious. Its Logan Reese, flirtiest guy ever, how would anyone know if he was kidding or being serious?

A nudge on my shoulder brings me back to reality. I look up and the teacher is talking about a project, I must have missed the bell when I was thinking. I look over to the object of my thoughts and he is looking at me in a weird way, obviously concerned.

"Are you ok?" he whispers into my ear.

I shiver at his breath on my neck but I nod and whisper back, "Yah, I'm-I'm fine. Just thinking."

"About me?" he says in his usual obnoxious tone while smirking at me.

"Stop wishing," I state calmly. Then I look back at the front of the room and see that the teacher is handing out video cameras. Crap, I missed the directions. "Wanna tell me what this project is?"

He smiles at me and picks up his camera and hands me mine. "Here, we have to video tape our partner for a week then at the end we are going to clip both mine and yours together and make a documentary to show to the class."

"Ok…Wait! Yours and mine! We are partnered together again?" I say frantically to make sure it's true.

The bell rings and Logan gets up as he replies, "Yup, again." He smiles at me.

I smile back and I jump up. I wrap my arms around his neck and he lifts me up and spins me around out of instinct. He sets me back down but he doesn't let me go. He holds me up against him for a couple of seconds then he leans in. He kisses my lips lightly and the kiss is very short. He pulls away from me, smiles and blushes.

"Ready to go?" he asks me.

I nod my head. I still can't speak because of the shock. Best ten seconds of my life…again.

Author's note: Ok so this chapter was kinda short but I wanted to start out kind of showing how the two main characters act and then showing how this project affects them. I can't promise that the other chapters will be longer but I will try. I have never done a DL chapter story so this is my first.

Tell me if I should continue or is it suxx and I should give up.
