Sofia the First: The Secret Behind the Garden

"Come on Mr. Cedric, you need fresh air!" Sofia said as she dragged Cedric out of the castle doors. The sorcerer frowned at the young princess, she had dragged him outside because she thought the potions and spells were getting to him. He could not go against princess's wishes after all the trouble they had with sleep lately. His mother had said fresh air always did drown your stress.

As Cedric was being dragged he caught a glimpse of a picnic basket. "What's with the basket?" he asked as he raised an eyebrow but before Sofia answered he saw a door that lead to her secret place.

He should have known Sofia was going to bring him here. "Do you remember this place Mr. Cedric?" Sofia asked as she turned her head to Cedric. The man rolled his eyes, such a typical question. He did indeed remember but Sofia had never shown him the inside yet, She had been there with her friends but he hadn't.

"How can I forget, you made me where a stupid bow." She giggled at his antics then opened the door to the inside. Cedric's eyes became wide when he saw the inside of the secret garden. Why didn't he recognize it before?

'I remember being in here." Cedric said as he walked inside the garden. The princess raised an eyebrow. She didn't remember Cedric being here with her. She began to wonder why as she sat the picnic basket down. She couldn't believe there was a secret behind this garden.

"So you want to tell me why you remember this place?' Sofia asked breaking their silence. Cedric sat down next to her and accepted a fly cake the princess had given him.

He took a bit of the muffin and told the story. 'This use to be the previous queen's secret garden, she use to bring the twins here on a day like this." Sofia wasn't too surprised at this piece of news. Sofia wished she knew what the previous queen was like. Her mother had told her that she was a baby when the previous queen was ruling with stepfather.

"Could you tell me what she was like Mr. Cedric?" The sorcerer froze from her question but recovered in a second.

After recovering from the question Cedric began to describe the queen's personality. "She was loved by everyone in the village and the castle princess; she brightened up everyone's spirits including mine. She was a lot like you really."

Sofia pondered on the information. She was becoming more curious at all the answers she was given. "How did she die?"

Cedric took one last bit of his fly cake wondering how he should tell a nine year old about the queen's death. "No one really wants to give that answer away Sofia," Sofia became sad now; she really wanted know about the queen's death but it seemed like that answer was never going to be given.

With their picnic over the two friends then began to clean up their mess. "I guess you miss her don't you Mr. Cedric?" Cedric sighed then said everyone does princess." With that settled sorcerer and apprentice exited the garden.

A/N: Sorry this was short, in fact I don't think this the best of stories I've written. Anyway, I was just going to write a story about Cedric and Sofia enjoying a spring day but the previous queen began to make me think. I hope you enjoyed this. Please Review!
