(BLEACH)
Disclaimer: I still don't own BLEACH.
She had only just returned from one of her "outings" when she saw him. Her little taichou, slumped over his desk, poring over the files and papers that littered its surface in an unorganized manner – something characteristic of her, not of him. Hitsugaya was always proper and organized – seeing such chaos would have shocked her if she hadn't had so much sake.
"Taichou, what are you doing?" she asked, sinking into the sofa at the side of the room.
"The same thing that you ought to be doing right now," he snapped, not even pausing to look up from his work, "You have had the same two stacks of papers on your table for three days – why aren't you working on them?"
"I'll get them done," she said with a mock-whimper, "I just have a lot of business to get done first!"
Her response was met with an irritable grunt from her captain, but he still refused to look at her. She got up from her spot on the sofa and walked around to behind his chair to get a look at what he was working on. Leaning over top of him, she peered at what he had been writing, and he scrambled to dispose of it, tossing it into the drawer of his desk.
"What were you writing?" she asked, yawning, and made her way back to the sofa.
"Nothing…" came his mumbled reply, but she was already sinking into sleep. Hitsugaya was relieved – chances were she wouldn't remember it once morning came. He removed the letter from his desk drawer, and ripped it into pieces, making sure that the words "To Rangiku" would never be able to be pieced together, along with the rest of the letter.
