My eyes
fall upon my metal name tag.
It's a
symbol of my life with humans.
But there
is the other side of my life;
One that
the humans would not understand.
The
responsibility I shoulder:
Guardian
of my feline brethren,
Deuteronomy's
second-in-command,
And
supervisor of our yearly ball.
And yet I
am seen as a simple cat…
A
companion for humans… mouse-catcher…
Supervising
humans as I do cats…
But they
don't need to know my other life.
And so
when they praise me and say, "Good Cat,"
I take
pride in knowing I've done much more.
