He was her beautiful disaster. Then, now, and always. But he doesn't remember that era. He is a soldier of the winter.
I felt the dainty nails scrape at his scalp and then her soft voice "I have to go soon. They can't find me here. You know that. Tomorrow I get sent out on my mission. Promise me we'll see each other again?" I nodded the last thing I remember is her fiery curls across her bare back before she put on her shirt and disappeared. That look of complete devotion and love was the last thing I remembered of that girl. They took it all away and now they've given me the orders to destroy her for betraying us.
I aimed the riffle at the red head I was ready my finger itching to pull that trigger to get this mission over with. Mission after mission life after life, I didn't feel it at first the dread the death I was carrying out, but now it was there. Every life I took was baring down on my already tainted soul. I knew soon they would take me to that cold chair and clear my brain again 'reprogramming' they called it. The woman turned I saw her face that face something inside me broke through the chill I could not kill her. I couldn't make myself pull the trigger. I had to confront her, I had to hear her voice, I had to know why I couldn't kill her why was she different.
Jumping down and pointing the gun at her she smiled as she pulled out two small pistols "Are you going to shoot me James?"
