Author's Note: This was a random idea I had that I thought would be cool to write so I hope you enjoy it! I claim no ownership of Star Trek or its characters.

It was just another uneventful day on the Enterprise until Spot somehow got onto the bridge and sat right in Picard's lap.

"What the hell?" Picard asked once the cat sat on his lap, "Data, get this cat out of here."

"Yes, sir." Data said before going up to Spot, "Spot, please get off of the captain's lap."

Spot stayed in Picard's lap.

"Spot, I asked you to please get off Captain Picard's lap."

Spot just kept sitting in Picard's lap.

"Spot, why do you persist to sit in the captain's lap?"

"Data, when I said get the cat out of here, I didn't mean to try and reason with it. Pick it up and get it out of here now!" Picard said.

"Yes, sir."

Data somewhat stiffly picked up Spot and took him back to his quarters. Data made sure Spot couldn't get out again, but a few hours later Spot was back in Picard's lap.

"Spot, why do you continue to sit in Picard's lap? How do you keep coming on the bridge? I do not understand how you even got out of the room."

"Data, quit taking to the cat and get it out of here and make it stay out." Picard ordered.

"Of course, sir. Sorry, sir."

Data took Spot back to his quarters once again only for the cat to somehow get onto the bridge again a few hours later. It sat in Picard's lap for the third time.

"Perhaps sir, I can take Spot to the brig."

"I don't care what you do. As long as you keep this damned animal off my bridge!"

"Yes sir. I apologize for any inconvenience."

Data locked the cat in the brig and for a few days the cat stayed off the bridge. Somehow though the cat was once again on the bridge and it sat on Picard's lap.

"Sir, would you like me to-" Data began.

"No, Data. Forget about it." Picard replied.

"Yes, sir."

For the next few months, Spot continued to sit on Picard's lap. Eventually, it finally stopped and Picard finally could sit in his chair in peace.
