The stranger: From Christmas to Halloween by mewmar

Disclaimer: Like always I don't own Harry Potter or my fanfictions wouldn't be so.

A/N: I wrote this the same day of Vampire lust. Hope you like it. If so or not review.

It was a dark, star illuminated night, when Draco Malfoy went to muggle London. He was on a vacation there, alone. His parents where in France, they didn't know. He felt the urge to see how the muggles lived.

It was snowing and raining at the same time, like his mood, dark. He went out of a club and was about to go to another, when he remembered he had left his coat inside. He went to get it but when he turned he bumped into someone. This man was about forty; he wore a long black leather coat and a hat and had a feeling of mystery around him.

This man held his coat in one hand and offered it to him. Draco smiled a little remaining himself this man didn't know who he was, and thanked him. He went to leave when the stranger stopped him with those words: "You now boy, you remind me a lot of myself when I was younger. All lonely and sad."

Draco looked astonished that the man had seen right through him. He thought that muggles wouldn't notice him and he had held his guard low. He looked at the man and then smiled sadly. Who would have ever thought that a muggle man and a grown-up at that would understand him? He like everyone thought that only you know the pain you're going through.

"Would like to go get a drink?" Draco offered. The stranger accepted and they walked to a nearby bar. They talked for a while of this and that, until the conversation took a different turn and stared to get more serious and personal.

"You know boy, I was about your age (Draco's 17 in this) when I fell in live with a guy. We were never friends on the contrary so I didn't tell him. Now after all those years look how I ended up. Lonely and sad. Don't commit my same mistake." The stranger said.

"It's interesting, I fell in love with someone too. My arch rival in school. I don't have the guts to tell him. Maybe I should. You live only ones and it's short." Draco said having had one too many Sherries.

The stranger whose name he still didn't know had given him a good advice. When he looked back to his side, he found that the stranger had disappeared. He never saw that stranger again.

Ten months had come and gone by that time. It was Halloween night at Hogwarts and Draco decided it was now or never. He would either get a love or a not so heavy heart from having tried.

Draco had watched Harry for the whole evening preparing himself for what was to come.

He knew the other boy had caught him staring and was probably thinking he was up to something but he didn't care.

When finally Harry was left alone by his friends, Draco went up to him and asked him if they could talk in private. Harry had looked skeptically and queerly at him but accepted his curiosity getting the better of him and gradually accepted. After all everything must have been better than the boring feast of that year.

"What do you want Malfoy?" Harry asked without missing a beat.

Draco took a deep breath and blurted out "I love you."

Harry remained staring at him and then started laughing probably thinking it was a joke or a bet. I mean how much can you tell when your arch rival comes and tells you he loved you?

"I'm not joking." Draco huffed. After all he had been through to confess this was his reaction? Harry thinking it was a joke! What an indignity. After all the practice in front of him mirror that much that the mirror itself stared blushing. It had been difficult for him to say those three simple words.

Harry looked at him in the eyes than kissed him out of the blue, fully on the lips.

"I love you too stupid." He said cheekily. He smiled goofily then said "Happy Halloween."
