Just a little drabblish one-shot on what I think Yami Bakura/Thief King would actually do post canon because he is just that badass. I mean, he is The King of Thieves after all so it does make sense that he would be able to do that.

The King of Thieves

There were many self-proclaimed Kings of Thieves before him, and many more after him. There were many who were just as skilled and quick with their hands just as he. Hell, compared to the others, he was but another skilled thief. Another rough, rugged man who enjoyed in plundering and stealing whatever catches his fancy. He wasn't really original. He wasn't really all that unique. The only difference was that he was a boy who sought vengeance for what happened to his village and sold his soul to Demon. Only to find 5 thousand years later it was all for naught.

But there is one thing that makes him truly different from the other Kings of Thieves. The one thing made it so that he has the undeniable right to bear the tittle the King amongst thieves for all time and none may ever take that away from him. An impossible feat that has him grinning now, standing on the empty sidewalk as he stuffs his hands in the pockets of his black trench coat. Briefly glancing over his shoulder into the shadows from where he appeared from, turning back around to stare at the city before him and hum a tune under his breath. Taking a deep breath of air and sighing, a strange look crossing his face for a moment that spoke volumes of satisfaction and utter bliss in tasting sweet freedom at last.

Bakura then smirked deviously, strolling down an alley and whistled a surprisingly upbeat tune, a slight hop to his step. Brushing away a stray silver lock, he disappeared at the bend and made way towards the future, intent on not wasting his days now after five thousand years of pointless vengeance and disappointing defeat. But then, he'd done something that was so insane, so utterly improbable, it was not even funny.

He had done what no other thief has done before.

He stole back his very own soul.

And that is something worth bragging about for all eternity.
